Mickwhitt 4,617 #553 Posted August 9, 2020 Walked the dogs, cut the paths on the community project, rebuilt a mower i had welded the deck on, put it on the drive for sale... A guy I met on a dog walk dropped off a few brace of wood pigeon he shot yesterday. Pan fried with roast veg that was our supper. 4 1
Stormin 9,981 #554 Posted August 9, 2020 Washed the Hyundia. Topped up the diesel. Checked tyre pressures, oil and coolant. Neighbour came over with a self propelled mower she'd just bought. Put it together for her. Packed spare clothes etc Loaded most of what we're taking. Moved the rabbit. Mowed the lawn. Come morning, Wales here we come.

I took this, but did a little enhancing with the iPad... 3
Pullstart 62,834 #557 Posted August 10, 2020 Made it through over 140 pages of Michael Martino’s “Straight From the Horses Mouth” today. I am torn. Finish it tonight, or save some for later? Why not just re-read it again?
Pullstart 62,834 #558 Posted August 10, 2020 Layin’ pipe today! I have good helpers too! 1
WHX?? 48,814 #559 Posted August 10, 2020 How are you fastening that Kev tie wraps?? if so you are doing it a little bass ackwards! My first in floor job many moons ago that was how we did it and the last time. Automatic staplers with the mesh over that is the only way to fly. very seldom do the concrete guys use mesh anymore anyway.

Pullstart 62,834 #561 Posted August 10, 2020 Yeah Jim, zip ties to the grid. The cement is fiberglas reinforced So the grid is simply layout. I realize there are staples, but this works too I suppose.

Mickwhitt 4,617 #564 Posted August 12, 2020 Its 4 am here and we are under a large thunderstorm cell. Lots of lightning and thunder which is stressing the dogs out. So we are all sitting up reading lol. Been waiting for it for days. 2

We say outside last night with a cup of tea at 11pm watching that in the distance, never heard any thunder so it was a good distance away.

ebinmaine 67,422 #568 Posted August 12, 2020 As avid mountain hikers, Trina and I have been to the highest points in Maine and New Hampshire and many many of the surrounding hills. I can't quite see Europe from here. I'm sure it's close. 1

meadowfield 2,570 #570 Posted August 12, 2020 Bringing this seriously off topic topic back on track 😁 I had a sh!t job this weekend adding another feed into the septic tank. 3 hours laid down core drilling diagonally through two layers of engineering brick. then if that wasn’t bad enough the wheelbarrow fell over as I was emptying the mixer 🙁
Dan.gerous 2,696 #571 Posted August 12, 2020 I drove to Aberdeen, the heavy rain made my five hour trip take seven hours! Stuck in endless traffic, then passed Stonehaven minutes before the big train crash, the other side of the road erupted in emergency vehicles but I had no idea why until getting onboard the ship. Thoughts for the survivors, I used to use that service all the time.

Pullstart 62,834 #575 Posted August 12, 2020 @JCM @WHX24 how important is it to deburr the pipes in a lower pressure lower speed plumbing system like this, vs the system in a house? I am cutting my edges clean, just curious. I’m building the manifolds in a “reverse return” method. The theory in multiple water heater plumbing is that this will effectively balance an otherwise unbalanced system. I hope the same proves true for this system.
