Stormin 9,981 #432 Posted July 21, 2020 Spent the day over at my mate Dunc's in Scotland. Bought the place early last year and the house has been gutted and they should have been in, in May. Corvid 19 put the mockers on that. Nearly finished now and plan is to move in week on Friday. There's about 8 acres of ground. Two large fields and lot's of trees and future firewood. More than enough for him to see too, so it looks like I'll be over there on a regular basis to assist. While there I tuned the carb on his C-125. Runs as sweet as a nut now. Should now be better on fuel. Speaking of fuel. Well pleased at the mpg the Santa Fe is returning. 39.3 mpg the trip said when I got home. 104 mile round trip. Just over an hour each way.
Dan.gerous 2,696 #433 Posted July 21, 2020 Spent all morning laying concrete, one slab in the piglet shed and two bases up in the garden for a greenhouse shed complex - there will be another base joining them together. Forgot how hard pouring concrete can be, rakes and wheelbarrows. I never thought to use the tipping trailer and the wheelhorse! Put the plow on the C-125 after lunch and cleans out the pig pens. Busy day followed by a BBQ and a few beers.

Because of Covid on Friday is next roadapproval schedule. curious what‘s happen this time, last time on test, the right brakecaliper arrests in brake position and cannot be released just with extreme external force. Than i hear a - clank- sound, and all releases. We tried again, but brakeforce where too differently - so no approval. I changed again the discs and pads but still 28% difference on frontbrake. we decide they must be breaked in and than we give it another try. after that clank sound, it works for a month absolute normally as nothing where happen ever. i keep the Jack in the car and tested several times, if the brakes releases and they do. Few weeks later, i’m driving bit faster on Autobahn, where i loose speed and i wonder, what the heck is that now happen. it felt like a loss of Engine torque. I stopped on a sideway and the brakedisc on right side changes its color to blue and a very strong smell occurs. its extremely hot... ok, another brakedisc blastin. So i decide to change this Antichrist of caliper to a new one, but when i do, i do it on both sides. normally this compactbearings rusted so strongly in and need a hammer and a flat chisel to loosen the outer ring than they come in one part out but i had a bad feeling. left side where until screws loosen felling out of in felt thousends of parts arround the bearingcage. The backside of bearingcage itself was that penetrant rusted in and takes a massive bit longer to convince to go out. i never seen sometimes before. A compactbearing that rips arround in the middle section and all outsideparts are just fragments they stuck only together as long as the Screws are tight. When i loose them with the impact wrench, ploink - a felt 100 part puzzle.😳 Sadly i let the ipad at home, because i know it will become a dirty work. but now i wish, i had it with me for few Picts. Gladly i see that before this bearing give up on the Autobahn with Topspeed. Edit - Ok, do quick a Testdrive to do several brake in and verify after, Brake work as it should no eek eek or other noises and it bytes really agressive also from Topspeed to 0 Only the tyres whine for mercy. While i check all again i was able took a quick Pic, because i know nothing happens without Picts... Edit end Since you are in germany, we need to know the brand name of your car and a picture of the entire car

Pullstart 62,834 #438 Posted July 22, 2020 We’ve been in Puerto Rico with two friends for a week. Today, I figured during our layovers I’d work on a new mask. I hacked up a handkerchief and got a cheap sewing kit that was allowed through TSA security. 1
Lee1977 6,656 #439 Posted July 22, 2020 (edited) For the last few days I have been working on storm drainage . Had two bad afternoon thunder storms Monday and Tuseday. Did pickup the concrete and morter. After two bad storms it didn't dry up enough to do anything much today but pickup dead limbs from the storm. Lee1977 6,656 #440 Posted July 23, 2020 Back at it today. put two 80 lbs of concree in the bottom and 38 bricks and a bag of morter. Isn't very pretty kind of hard laying bricks down in a hole.

Pullstart 62,834 #442 Posted July 24, 2020 Now I am helping my father in-law do the drain plumbing in their new house. January of 2019 their place burnt during the polar vortex and they are hoping to be in their new home before winter. The house is a pole building where 1/2 is living quarters and 1/2 is motorhome storage. There will be a floor drain and motorhome dump too. 4
Tractorhead 9,064 #443 Posted July 24, 2020 I will try to reglue the Digitizer later with a heatgun and hope i can reuse my ipad tomorrow back as usual. Robbed the last parts from the White Opel (Alu Rims and Trailerhook ignition line MAF sensor and several other needable Parts) and prepare it for trashing, maybe out local firefighter like it as a trainingobject for cut it down on a person safe training. That could give it a last good sense for Emergency life saver training.

Mickwhitt 4,612 #447 Posted July 25, 2020 Been a busy few days so just a few headlines. More bathroom work at my brothers, its getting there. Tidy team day on Thursday ckeaned all the gutters and pavement of weeds. Fred needed gear change fixing after it came loose, also packthe muffler with glass matting and it sounds quieter. Bought a scrap mower for 20 pounds, put 20 pounds of parts into it and it purrs like a kitten 😸 Weekend of quiet reflection ready to start again Monday.

We actually backed a huge cement mixer truck up to the fence, it was the excess from laying the floor in one of the barns. The is another slab to go in between them, will shutter that up tomorrow so I can get on with building the stuff on top.
Tractorhead 9,064 #450 Posted July 25, 2020 Doing Today a Service Day for some of my Toys. Firstly i cleaned the Carb on the Pushmower and fit it with an external huge Fuelfilter. i don`t like after each 3x refilling with canisters a complete clean the Carb. Later i checked my provisorium fix on the Pushrod of my Horse - it looks and it works better than i expected. Think i keep it until my 656 is ready to rumle. ( let's see how long it lasts, if it fail, i allready ordered 6x 1/2" Heim Joints) at Least i give today the Car an upgrade and prepare for Trailerhook mount. Full Service and a Wash with a followed Polish. Looks much better now with the Clim Air and the Alu`s
