Mickwhitt 4,554 #7326 Posted Saturday at 10:33 AM This morning I have been mostly lying in an MRI scanner at our local hospital. Raised PSA level in a routine blood test tipped me onto a pathway to investigation of the reasons. Interesting machine. I thought the big donut had a magnet whizzing round in it, but it turns out to just be a huge coil electromagnet. Apparently the hydrogen atoms in your body need to be lined up so they can take an image inside you. The magnet does that, but the whole things shakes you to sort things out into some sort of order. It's complicated physics but pretty cool. Waiting now for the doctors to look at the pictures and get back to me. Read on the interweb that a private MRI would have cost north of a grand. That would have definitely made me sick.
Mickwhitt 4,554 #7327 Posted Saturday at 12:11 PM They played a radio station through the ear phones while I lay in the tube. I didn't think about it till I got out, but the tunes were perhaps not the best for my situation..... SOS by ABBA, I get so emotional by Whitney, If you leave me now..... Any other songs that would seem inappropriate for medical procedures? 1
c-series don 8,647 #7328 Posted Saturday at 12:21 PM @Mickwhitt Well I’m glad to hear you still have a sense of humor in this! Yes, it sounds like they could come up with a different sound track!!

Prices are better because ALL the dealers have to stay competitive. Sales department is easier to deal with. Overall ... a positive ... in this area.
ebinmaine 67,086 #7337 Posted Saturday at 11:17 PM Trina and I worked on the road utility trailer much of the day. New coupler. New jack. All four new spring eyelet bushings. What a LOT of work and time. Should be nicer and more quiet going down the road now. 3
8ntruck 6,958 #7338 Posted Sunday at 12:00 AM Used an improvised ladder scaffold, truck, chain, rope, come along, and a pulley to get the cap blocks set on center and south porch columns today. The heavy masonry work is now complete. It was too dark when I finished up to get any good pictures. Maybe I'll get some tomorrow morning. Got to wire in the porch light, then switch into carpentry mode for the trim and ceiling. That wiring job is going to be interesting. The original porch light was still on the post and tube wiring. One wire came from the living room and the switched wire came from the entryway. The wire from the living room checked hot with my 'tweety' - kind of looks like the switch was between the load and common .

That thing hammered and banged and shook. After it was all said and done, I suggested to the tech that they consider tightening up some bolts and give it a good tune up. Actually, I dozed off and the tech startled me when he went to wake me up. The next thing for me was biopsy of prostate. I've had "snips" of prostate but this biopsy was a different animal. No cancer was found but doctor will be meeting with me to discuss a medical word that had more letters in it than I use in most sentences. Mickwhitt, I suspect there are several of us with new experiences in the medical realm so know that we'll be praying for and thinking of you and supporting you as best we can from a far. 1

adsm08 1,957 #7341 Posted Sunday at 11:15 PM Church in the morning, dog walk after lunch, then the boy and I went over to dad's and helped butcher the deer he got last week. To butcher one alone it takes him 6 to 10 hours, depending on the size of the deer. He was just getting started when we got there, took the three of us together about 3 hours.
ebinmaine 67,086 #7342 Posted Sunday at 11:35 PM The BBT played "trailer sides construction technician" with her momma's help today. One of the things we need to get from my mom that was my father's stuff is a few cabinets he used in his old office. Trina and her momma built these 4' sides outta scrap wood. 3
MainelyWheelhorse 345 #7343 Posted yesterday at 03:32 AM I worked an extremely busy 8 hour shift at Hannaford 6:30-3. We were so busy that all available staff for my department and some other coworkers pulled from other departments that weren’t as busy, were on screech the entire 8 hours. This is very uncommon but it’s been like this since August. I walked a little under 7 miles today on my shift. This is supposed to be the slow season and we’ve been getting tsunamis of orders. It’s definitely odd we’re this busy now. BUT, these tractor/tractor parts aren’t going to pay for themselves 😁

I put an outlet near my front door with one side switched and the other always live. Handy for seasonal decorating with lights (and yes, I’m aware of “internet of things” approaches but that won’t be happening here).
8ntruck 6,958 #7346 Posted 7 hours ago . One of the things I've noticed about the post and tube wiring in that house is the unpredictability of the routing of the hot and common. When replacing some of it, I have disabled circuits in other unexpected places when I removed wiring in one room. I won't be suprised if something else goes dark when I 'correct' the wiring for the porch light. I've come to accept that when opening up a project in this 100+ year old house, about 3 more unexpected projects will appear.
