I'm guessing it may not be the same as served in the US but it was very tasty and filling. Five pancakes was more than enough for me ... What - no beans with that? I got some progress on several small projects today. One of them being a rack to improve the organization of our iron cookware: Turned out pretty well, I think.

Mickwhitt 4,606 #7078 Posted August 7 First proper drive out in the new car today, bit of motorway work to try he radar adaptive cruise control thingy out. Set it to a speed and away you go, if you come up behind slower traffic it drops your speed to match them, if you pull out to overtake it accelerates for you. Lane following cameras too so you stay in lane if your mind wanders. Not autonomous driving but a very neat bit of kit for highway driving.

8ntruck 6,998 #7080 Posted August 7 My comment on beans for breakfast comes from a breakfast we had in Heathrow on one of my trips through there - was was eggs, ham, though here we call it Canadian bacon, toast, and beans really similar to the baked beans on this side of the pond. @Mickwhitt - we purchased a used 2022 Chrysler Pacicifa mini van a couple month back. It has a similar suite of options - lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, anti skid, traction control, parking assist, automatic emergency braking, and fully automatic parking that I have not had the trust to try. The parking assist is fun in the drive through teller at the bank. Clearances are close enough that it sets off all of the proximity alarms. I have trust issues with the adaptive curse control and automated braking. Lane keeping is annoying as I clip the apex on corners.

8ntruck 6,998 #7082 Posted August 8 (edited) That is a variation on a reflector oven I've not seen before. I'll have to experiment with that idea. Bet a variation on our recently acquired Blackstone grill will work. Edited August 8 by 8ntruck

Camping as much as we do gives her time for experiments. Her thought with the tin pan was to hold the heat in, which worked. Side benefit of keeping the ash off the chicken. She's done that many times.....

I really like the smart cruise control and the auto braking. I found the lane assist sees a curve and steers too early causing two abrupt changes so I only use the warning for lane control. Waffles can be like pancakes or sweet, I hate the sweet ones. Just make some chicken gravy with a lot of meat and that is a real treat.
