I kind of added all that weight on purpose, to see how much deflection happened. Surprisingly, not much (yet). I will be sure to brace it though.

ohiofarmer 3,276 #6279 Posted November 5, 2023 Went to the urineologhist to get a clean bill if health . Noticed on the way out if the driveway that the Mulberry tree was dropping it's leaves. Every leaf was down when we got back, so I raked them on piles and drug them back on a tarp where I will grind them into dust for their high nitrogen content. Pretty good considering I had spinal surgery about six weeks ago. 1 5

Horse Newbie 7,070 #6283 Posted November 5, 2023 (edited) So both days last weekend was put up garage door Saturday and put up opener Sunday. The wire for my wall switch was a little short so I had to reroute it. It came loose where I had spliced it together to pull it through the wall. Had to cut an access hole in the attic floor to retrieve the wire. So yesterday was move everything in the attic, decide what to toss. That took all day Saturday…😆 Today(Sunday), I patched the hole in the attic floor/ used screws because now it is an access door. The attic storage space looks a whole lot better. Most of what’s left is Christmas decorations, which we never use… Edited November 5, 2023 by Horse Newbie

ML3 1,204 #6285 Posted November 5, 2023 Mowed & did leaves at my parents today. Also put up driveway markers for plow guy as well as put snow tires/wheels on Mom's Subaru. Mowed withu dad's old piece of junk Craftsman 20hp tractor. Leaves piled up around muffler & caught fire! Was way in back yard & had to think fast........so I peed on the fire! 😜 Lastly took mower off his Troy Bilt GTX20 & installed snowblower. What a chore that is. Makes me appreciate Wheel Horse Tach-a-matic. 3 1

8ntruck 7,006 #6289 Posted November 6, 2023 Saw the last gasp of summer today. Was a nice sunny day about 70 degrees. Was laying bricks on my front porch railing, late in the day just before, sunset striking the joints. Then it showed up - the ICE CREAM TRUCK! Came bustling around the corner in all its glory playing its electronic rendition of Turkey in the Straw. I just smiled as it went by, but the kids in the next block hit it pretty hard. I enjoyed many rounds of Turkey in the Straw while they got their last treats for the summer. I've gotten the bricks for the north railing up to height. The next course will be a 10" wide, 4" thick, 8 foot long sandstone cap on the rail. I'll rent one of those micro bucket loaders to set the stone caps. Was too dark when I stopped today for pictures. I'll try to snap a couple tomorrow, so this post will be worth something.
Ed Kennell 38,178 #6290 Posted November 6, 2023 I spread the roadapples that I picked up last Friday on Jays birthday. Spring will turn the apples into strawberrys, blackberrys, raspberries, tomatoes, peppers, beans, and flowers. Thank you Apples. RIP my friend. 1

Pullstart 62,900 #6292 Posted November 6, 2023 My new winter truck came with 5th wheel holes in the bed. I found some rails for $60 on the jungle site and installed those today. This will help when putting the camper away for the winter, being shorter wheelbase, 4x4 and automatic. Normally, I use Norman for moving the behemoth. Putting it away, I drive around the barn and slightly into the fresh cut field, then back it into the barn. Taking it out, I drive across the field to the nearest road entrance, hoping and praying I don’t lose traction or momentum.

A collapsed sewer pipe had other ideas. Spent time digging out the blocked sewage to find the problem. Then dug out the damaged pipes and effected a repair. Just ran out of time to backfill and make good. But that's for tomorrow. this is the new pipework which replaces the damaged Y piece that had collapsed. Never wished my sense of smell could take a holiday as much lol. Mick

cleat 6,004 #6298 Posted November 9, 2023 Yep, a few weeks ago I started digging up my drainfield for the septic tank as the tank was not draining and was overflowing out the top and smelling bad.. Found several collapsed sections and kept digging until I found good pipe. Installed around 12' of perforated drain pipe and back filled with gravel then sand then top soil and planted grass seed. Within a week or two the grass grew to the point that you can't tell where I dug it up and the yard smells nice now. Yay. 3
