When you get it running, throw that pepper shaker muffler away and put a stack on it. I’m hoping it runs as I would like to put it in my GT14. It seems to have good compression. I’ll try to get it fired over soon. The rest will get taken apart and stored in the meantime. Hope all is well my friend! 2

An old Kohler engine with good compression. You're pretty much already there. All you need is a little fire and fuel and you're good to go...

Pullstart 62,838 #5679 Posted May 22, 2023 It’s 70 and sunny. Rylee had eyes on the whistle pig hanging out on a bus tire. We’re just waiting for it to present a safe shot. We kicked sand back in it’s hole twice now today. Now, we are prepared for it’s return to the den!

Horse Newbie 7,069 #5683 Posted May 23, 2023 After work today I washed the top side of the Cub deck (this is a sharpen blades and clean underneath project)… no painting the deck this time. Sharpened the two blades, and of course I had to paint them… Washed the other deck parts…

Horse Newbie 7,069 #5686 Posted May 25, 2023 (edited) Went to regular work, then after that I went to work on putting the Cub deck back together. Sanded some grass grunge off of a few more parts and painted them, put the belt tensioner assembly back on the deck… cleaned the spindle housings… Maybe I’m going a little overboard with this blade sharpening and grease job… I don’t want the blades of grass to have to see an ugly deck underside before their heads get chopped off… Edited May 25, 2023 by Horse Newbie

Horse Newbie 7,069 #5689 Posted May 26, 2023 (edited) Today I made a little more progress with the Cub deck… my grass is really getting tall. I should have done this over the winter… Look at the condition of the spindle housings. The aluminum is not corroded like you see so often on our Wheel Horse decks. It has to have everything to do with the spindle housings being on the topside of the deck. Got the spindles, blades, deck belt, belt guards, and deflector shield back on. Put the Red and Tacky grease in the spindles. Took the swing arm for the tensioner pulleys apart, cleaned, and greased the zerk with Red and Tacky also. I still need to paint the two skid plates that bolt along the front of the deck… IMG_2402.mov Edited May 26, 2023 by Horse Newbie
oliver2-44 9,739 #5690 Posted May 26, 2023 Got home from a couple of day RV trip to Dinosaur State Park near Glen Rose, Tx. It’s kind of west and below Ft Worth. These are actual tracks in the Paluxy river limestone bottom Above is cast of a trackway that was removed and taken to the New York American Museum of Natural History after the tracks were discovered in 1938. Do you remember Sinclair brand gas stations These life size dinosaur models were part of Sinclair exhibit at the 1965 Worlds Fair and later donated to the Park. And for a little gnome humor! 5

8ntruck 6,998 #5692 Posted May 28, 2023 Sheridan, Michigan is running their annual Springfest this weekend. I stopped by this afternoon to wander the car show. Lots of nice cars, but nothing really unusual. Anyhow, the tractor and motorcycle shows were combined with the car show this year. Found a few interesting tractors. 4
Wheel-N-It 2,968 #5693 Posted May 28, 2023 No Wheel Horse stuff today. First thing today was to go have new tires put on the trailer that James and I will be towing to the Big Show next month. Next was to help install a new one piece trunk pan in my friend Lee's 1964 Ford Galaxie convertible. Our goal is to have it back on the road by September. We had to drill out all the spot welds to remove the tail pan to install the trunk pan in one piece. One extra body part to remove, but thats the right way to do it. 3
cleat 5,932 #5694 Posted May 28, 2023 Looks good. September is when the convertibles around here get put away for the winter. 2

Interesting that you'd put pics of 3 of my favorites by brand or series. Wheelhorses obviously. Allis Chalmers Model G. The Cub is a representative of the color size and model of the second one my grampa had. Good post.

That Cub looked like a custom job, where somebody made a tricycle conversion with custom paint and decals. The owner wasn't around to talk to.
