Around here if you pull into a station with a diesel truck that has a tote in the bed to fill your tractors or off road equipment, they won't even turn the off road pump on for you. Pretty stiff on who they sell off road to.

Probably some undercover enforcement and stiff penalties for avoiding the tax has made the stations very careful.
Stormin 9,981 #5154 Posted December 15, 2022 Over here, if your caught with red diesel in your diesel truck, car, van etc. The vehicle will most likely get confiscated.
Mickwhitt 4,621 #5155 Posted December 15, 2022 Once while on patrol we spotted a guy putting red diesel into a works truck from a clear plastic can. He had run out on the motorway and was trying to get back to base by using some red diesel he had on board for a generator. The revenue officers were called to the scene and tested the fuel tank for red diesel. Result was the vehicle was immediately impounded and ultimately forfeited for using untaxed fuel. The revenue boys have way more power than us cops and absolutely ZERO discretion. Remember this guy was just filling the tank with a few litres and never even started the engine. Even if microscopic forensic signs of the dye in red diesel had been found in his engine they would have seized it. 8ntruck 6,998 #5157 Posted December 18, 2022 (edited) Well, the house is quieter this evening. Last July, we adopted one of our son's dogs. He was moving into an apartment and they would not accept his large retriever mutt mix. We had to take that final trip to the vet today. He was 7 years old and had been having occasional bouts of seizures for the last 5 years. Between seizures, he was a really pleasant dog. The seizure condition got worse last week. It was time. We had the same thing happen to our Basset hound. He would have a seizure and afterwards was like a zombie till he came out of it. They started happening more and more frequent ,even with medication, that he just couldn’t recover from. We had to let him go. I feel your pain. Sorry for your loss. 😢 5
ranger 1,750 #5159 Posted December 18, 2022 (edited) So very sorry to hear this. Our little dog, 14years young, the photo in my avatar, had suffered a couple of mini strokes this year, but had always recovered by the next day. The last one, 3rd December was the worst. The vet said it was time😢😢😢. R.I.P. Charlotte. (Charlie). Edited December 18, 2022 by ranger

cleat 5,934 #5162 Posted December 18, 2022 As much as I love my Wheel Horses, when we get a big ugly snow fall I get this beast out. It does not care if the snow is wet or dry.

Pullstart 62,840 #5167 Posted December 18, 2022 I put some brand new winter tires of shame on Mrs. P’s Suburban “De Ette”. Her 35” tires do fairly well, but we are preparing for a trip to TN soon. 285’/75’s should be more fuel friendly and have a bit better road manner. I should have painted the wheels.. 3

How far do they go… seems like they would lose velocity quick. Besides, with a blower I would have to “work” my way across the yard… with a leaf vac, fill the trailer, dump at curb…
