We have "roofers" around here that'll use air nailers to install about sixhundredfortyeleventhirteenninetysevenfiftytwo nails per flippin shingle. ~ Literally ~ enough to cut the shingles in two or more pieces. I wish I was kidding. 1

Pullstart 62,905 #4957 Posted November 22, 2022 I’ve been gone since last Thursday. Got 3 deer coming home with me and MO hunting is like a slice of heaven on earth. Had an owl perched on my ladder stand with me this morning, saw 6 does within the first 40 minutes of good light and had a buck walk under me before day break so I couldn’t see him. 4 bald eagles skimming the duck pond, wild pheasants flying about. All that said, I’m ready to be home. Mrs. p is ready for me too. Her cousin’s son Declan isn’t looking like he’ll pull out of his leukemia battle. The hospital staff suggested calling in end of life counselors for the family. Y’all have a Happy Thanksgiving this week! Please hug your family and remind them you love ‘em! 5

Thank you Pullstart for reminding us of the good things God blesses us with, the important things, and unfortunately, that sad, almost unbearable things that can happen in life too. I just try to remember that God can turn a tragedy into a triumph. Have a safe trip home, and I WILL hug my loved ones and tell them I LOVE them ! 1 5

The worse thing I have done to make it ugly is paint overspray, and I wish I hadn’t done that… I'd like something better on my floor, but I'm afraid it's really at the point where it needs to be jackhammered and replaced. It was never thick enough and was done by the P.O. himself, in sections, which have not all settled at the same rate with numerous cracks. But it would be nice even if just to keep the dust down!

I was somewhat particular when I prepped for my floor… ran 1/2 “ rebar back and forth about every 3 ft sq. Had a slick finish done. It is a workshop and it shows…that overspray looks bad…
8ntruck 7,014 #4966 Posted November 24, 2022 Spent the day out in our woods with my son doing brush cutter, chain saw, and rake work cleaning up our trail and clearing. Tomorrow, we will be cooking Thanksgiving dinner out in the woods. Both of our kids will be there this year. Will have pictures tomorrow. Part of the work was to drag a couple of cedar tree trunks out of the clearing that I had cut down and limbed a couple of months ago. they are about 20' long and are of a nice size and straightness for future use in a gazebo or woodshed or some other type of out building. Started with a chain and a come along. Ended up it was easier for my son and me to just pull on the chain to skid the logs where they needed to go.

8ntruck 7,014 #4975 Posted November 27, 2022 I spent a couple of hours wandering through our woods. Got into some spots I have not been in before. Pictures: Images ordered panorama style, left to right. This is an area that my wife suggested I check out as a possible house site. The edge of the hill drops down maybe 15 feet to an intermittent stream. What do y'all think about the location? I'm going to have to get my GPS unit there to see where that spot falls on the property. We have 2 adjacent lots. The lot line is somewhere in that area. Might have to combine the two lots into one, or move the lot line somehow. Both should be possible, since we own both lots.
