Pullstart 62,850 #4504 Posted August 7, 2022 (edited) Mrs. P is on a girls trip to an all inclusive for a week in the Dominican Republic. She sent me a picture of her pool today, so I sent her a picture of ours. Note I timed it to shoot a picture when I was on the diving board. Stormin 9,981 #4506 Posted August 7, 2022 (edited) Was SWMBO's birthday on Friday so we had a family BBQ yesterday. All there minus 6. Girls couldn't find a corkscrew in the kitchen but I found one in the workshop. I looked after the bar and made sure the beer and wine stayed cold. "Can I have a some?" Pullstart 62,850 #4510 Posted August 7, 2022 Sold my dump truck today. 4-ish years of ownership, $60 ahead and the new owner was real happy! I never drove it out of my driveway… He asked if I thought it would make it about 30 minutes towards the big city… practically down town. Rear brake line blown, m/c looking like it was rescued from a Lake Mead barrel, I cleared my conscience by offering to deliver it.

In my youth, my Dad built a home and my brothers and I mixed, wheelbarrowed, spread, and finished A LOT of concrete for walkways, stairs, and other things. Ours had a smaller drum and a 1.5hp electric motor. As I recall, Dad sold it for more than he paid when we were "done".
ebinmaine 67,470 #4512 Posted August 8, 2022 We spent the weekend doing two good strong busy days of getting the acreage ready for the upcoming wedding of Trina's daughter. Our best friend was here to help. A HUGE help. Trina's mom as well. We chipped a LOT of brush using the Mackissic chipper shredder. Several large piles are now gone. The chips were to be used to line pathways which will be used for the wedding guests and also our own usage after the big day. Our friend took it upon herself to accomplish the project and used some of our future firewood to edge the pathways. BBT and her mom worked on the benches for the vows area. She's using the 2" x 8" red oak that'll eventually be the bed of my truck. They set the boards out on the back of the utility trailer and Trina used a belt sander to take the coarseness off them. Then set them in place on 2 to 3 stumps each. Quite time consuming... The area looks fantastic!! 5
Oldskool 6,644 #4513 Posted August 8, 2022 We needed a sign post to display our road sign and our emergency 911 designated address for the new camp land. So this is the product of about 85% recycled/scavenged material. The post was getting tossed out because the top was broken. (Roadside score) The shelf brackets and paint were found in the back of an old truck in the junkyard. The metal for the number plaque was from a butchered WH belt guard. 3
Pullstart 62,850 #4514 Posted August 8, 2022 It’s my lucky day! I found 4 1-1/8” hubs cleaning shop! Now that the hilo is miraculously driving again, I’m loading scrap. I have had enough of tripping over the “free” equipment that came from my FIL’s shop when they moved… all of which needs major repair… so we agreed to scrap it out and split the gains. Tonight, I load up the farm truck with pallets of stuff. Tomorrow, a trailer of yard stuff and a trip to the big city. It’s funny, I’ll end up 2 blocks from where I delivered my (old) dump truck today!
Pullstart 62,850 #4515 Posted August 8, 2022 Treasures from the shop clean out! All the battery cables I’ll ever need! I can trim the copper terminals apart and have some extra heavy duty wiring… all 1/0 gauge!
Pullstart 62,850 #4516 Posted August 8, 2022 I found a plethora of batteries last night, along with another charger I haven’t seen in years! The big charger puts out juice if there is any present voltage to begin with. The little charger quits charging if it senses that battery is bad. Between the two, I’ll be able to decide which ones are cores or should be load tested and which can be used a little while longer!

Don Glad to pass on… just don’t use it on weeds that are in wood chips, lawns or next to the house… It really does work well… kills weeds and seeds for whole season… Last comment: long pants and heavy work boots advised… even with a good angle facing flame away from your body, it’s shall we say… warm. 1
