A&E this morning for an x-ray on the ankle I bashed 10 days ago. No fractures but badly bruised.

 

This afternoon started on modifying the trailer ramp. Ally tread plate was riveted on with steel rivet inserts. Had to grind the heads of. Cut the frame down to tailgate size and tack weld it up. Going to take it to a chap with a mig welder. He'll make a professional job of it. My hands are not all that steady these days with my stick welder.

Quick bit of canvas work today repairing our heaving line bags.

 

These small ropes with a weighted canvas bag are our messengers for the big ropes that hold the ship in dock. You throw this ashore attached to the bigger gear - much easier than trying to throw a 4 inch rope any distance!

 

The bags land from quite a height and tend to split open after a while.

 

Will make up some new ones when some free time comes along. I'm one of the very few British seafarers that can still sew - sad days!

 Cleaned up my crap welds on the tailgate frame, then put the Petter engine on the saw bench back together. I need a new fuel pump for it and I'll order that tomorrow.

We're spending some time cleaning up and organizing the yard and basement in anticipation of the appraisal toward the barn project this week and visitors next weekend. 
Moving the tractor pile around and resetting the tarp. 
Cleaning up the "bowl" of the yard beside the house. 
Burning brush and scrap. 
Emptied the utility trailer and restacking that and tarping it. 
General neatness type stuff.

Few weeks ago i get a cheap offer for a small foldable drone.

It has a WiFi module and normal Camera that reaches about 200m distance.

it has an extremely small footprint folded and i developed the Idea, use it for my Fawn saving Project.

 

The main reason to do that was the Hammer Airtime of 29min total.

 

so i begun and removed the integrated Camera and the WiFi Crap Transmission.

 

while remove it, i measure the Current, this thing needs.

it consumpts 480mA what is much more than what my Thermal Camera include a 5,8GHz FPV transmission needs.

 

to solve that issue i prints a new Cameramount on my 3D Printer and begin the Rework.

That all is dang fizzeling but i believe a pretty Cool solution and very Handy because of it‘s size.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Today was the maidenflight

 

 

That Thing is pretty Cool.

i get 20 min of Airtime, what is great for such a small drone with that heavy Payload.

Thanks EB....My go to yard tractor now. Thing runs sweet for a Tecky. Real tricky clutching tho with no reverse gear. Clutch out is go.... halfway is neutral .....floored is reverse and there is a fine line between. Missus can't get the hang of it without grind me a pound so now she don't want me to give the flying freakin A to @Achto!

Tubs like these are so handy for yard work ... easy on/off for old coots.

Yeah that's why I like my C series rigs. Floor boards I can stand up on. 

 

No huge surprise that tech runs good. A well adjusted one is a good engine.

Bagged a gobbler this AM.

 

 

 

After I got him butchered and in the freezer,  I hauled the carcass back to the woods and placed it under one of my trail cams.    I'm curious to see what critters like turkey.

 

 

Mowed the fence lines around the farm and checked some groundhog traps.

 Yesterday I took the new, to me, trailer tailgate frame to a mate of mine who was a sheet metal worker. Got that welded up then called at the local smithy for a piece of galvanised plate.

  This morning I got the frame painted and by this afternoon it was ready to assemble. Now fitted.

My mom’s  1969 VW needed gas today so went to fill her up. The service shop only put in four gallons when they put anew starter and solenoid and brakes.   When I got home she did not want to start up.  Checked the battery ( new last October ) but flat. 
 

Decided to use my jumper cables and Wheel Horse 314 to get her going again since they are both 12 volt systems.

 

l let her charge up after starting.  The horse came to the rescue.

My first car was a '66 Bug. Six volt system and with NY road salt I.could never keep the ground connections clean enough for reliable starting.

Turn the key and hope for the best. We learned to park it pointed downhill just above a driveway cut or fire hydrant so we could roll start it if necessary. It ALWAYS did start!

.....we were young and didn't have much knowledge about some technics ,
