What did you do today?

Yup.  With masonry work, it is good to think ahead and set things up before acting.  If something goes wrong, lots of heavy objects will be on the move......

Years ago, I was a councler on a youth group trip to Hungary.  We overnighted in Frankfort.  Took some time to sightsee while we were there.  A few of the kids and I climbed the cathedral tower.  The kids were talking about having to make the climb to ring the bells everyday.  I told them I was thinking about how the guys brought all the stones up to build the stairway we were using with only human and animal power.

Got some neat stuff the last couple days.

I've been wanting to change the wheels of my heavy weighted 20 x 8 x 8 fluid filled tires for the front of my snowplow tractor.

I've been using the rims off an old crapsmen and there are no bearings. I just grease em up via the keyway and slide em on the stock front spindle.

I decided to upgrade to 5 lug front wheels.

Those are 7" across the inside. Should be a good stable addition to the front of whatever they're on.

Here's the fluid fill kit I'm hoping to use to transfer the Rimguard and refill.

In other news... I picked up a parts washer on sale a few months back.

Never got around to setting it up.

While we were at TS today I passed this Zep cleaner.

Hey, Eric, by the way, the front wheels on my '95 JD are 15x6-6, and yes, I agree... around that size for front wheels is very stable...

Learned a bit from a local welder who helped me with the 8/4-speed noname seat bracket.  Heck of a nice guy!EAEC66B8-08F2-4B32-A829-0617321B98B2.jpeg.0dbe51f85578ac326e78daf95c2417a3.jpeg

I think so, yes.  He had a new Lincoln unit that would do all sorts of things.  I wish I’d taken a pic. $1,800 of versatility.

My welders are Jegs, have done everything I have asked...  ...I like/use the MIG all the time... for most everything...

I'd like to get a plasma cutter from Jegs... just haven't scraped together the :twocents-twocents:... 'specially since I started my JD build...

Ahaha!  I’ve been waiting for someone to ask about that!  NO!  My profile pic is that of a flaming Tesla rolling pilotless down the road in search of the 30 or 40,000 gallons of water needed to extinguish it.  It happily seemed to include a horse’s head if you look at it just right.  Pretty sweet, I would say as an ICE fan, man.

In college, I did research on the batteries that are used in these electric vehicles... in the event of an accident, if the batteries are penetrated, they can cause blindness, death, horrendous chemical burns, etc.

Not to mention... what your profile picture shows... :handgestures-thumbupright:

I bought a mesh tarp from Menards this year. I move the leaves on top of the mesh tarp with HellHorse, and pull them to the woods.

I have moved piles that are literally bigger than my truck...

I have used a tarp before to do that- move to curb… but it was so heavy the tires on the tractors spin.

I think... tires spinning depend on how much you outweigh the leaves... or... in my case... how many cookies I have been eating lately... :laughing-rolling:

But no, on a serious note... even with my pulley swaps... oddly enough, I don't have issues with tire spin. I have pulled leaves, pulled the zero turn out of the pond (it wasn't all the way in the pond...)... and my tires don't spin... :dunno:

Really, the only time my tires spin is when I put it in third, and... intentionally spin them... :auto-layrubber:
