8ntruck 7,016 #3256 Posted October 23, 2021 Not today's projects, but I've promised pictures. First the sub $100 trailer 'kit' I've picked up: Like I said, more of a loosely assembled kit suggesting what the final project should look like. It is a 6 x 10, so it will be capable of transporting a couple of horses. The door was side hinged, but it appears the option to convert it into a ramp door is there. Next is the work I'm starting in our 20 acres of woods in Ky. This picture is representative of what I started with: Several hours and a couple of tanks of gas with a brush saw on the Stihl trimmer resulted in this: Now I can get my laser level and elevation stick in there to shoot ground contours and start figuring the grading requirements for the site. Planning on a 36 by 48 metal arch building here. Next trip to Ky., I'll have to pack real chain saw along. On this trip, I just had a 10" battery powered B&D saw along for light limb trimming. Wasn't going to try to fell trees with it. The C195 sure would be handy working in the woods. Got to get the trailer done so I can get it there. 2

Haven't made up my mind if I am gonna give it to him yet!! This one didn't want to leave we had to use the 1277 and loader to get in my trailer (I knew it stayed to long). For some reason it wouldn't start or roll well and the parking brake wasn't on. But I introduced it to its new friend at home it had been alone for several years. 2
RandyLittrell 3,884 #3261 Posted October 24, 2021 My son picked up a slide off the curb someone was getting rid of, so we did a little modification to the deck this afternoon. Bryan and Grandson Vincent were a big help!! 4 1

I have a 1.75 hp Briggs “N” engine I got with some others I bought. I believe it’s a 1948.

I don't plan to do anything with them. You want them for parts perhaps? PM me if you're interested! You can have 'em but I can't ship 'em. edit: there's actually three of them. One is incompleted, missing flywheel and carb, one missing air cleaner, one hooked up to a water pump. I'm not sure if all of them are 6S or not but the blocks look very similar. They're up for grabs for free, pickup only. Edited October 26, 2021 by Jeff-C175
Jeff-C175 7,202 #3265 Posted October 26, 2021 I tripped over those engines again yesterday as a matter of fact... moving some stuff around to get access to a confined space where tree rats (squirrels) had gotten into the rafters and pulled all the insulation out and built a nest with it. What a nasty job that was! Squirrels have TERRIBLE housekeeping and bathroom habits! Climbing into the rafters crawling on my belly like a reptile suited up and duct taped with respirator and all... in a space about a foot and a half high between ceiling joists and rafters. If Mike Rowe can do it, so can I ! I guarantee that that particular squirrel will not be back. I've done all I could to exclude future visitors...

No. I find it much more enjoyable to combine the comfort of a lounge chair with the excitement of a 12 ga. 1
8ntruck 7,016 #3267 Posted October 26, 2021 I spent the afternoon winterizing the plumbing at the lake house. Antifreeze in the drains and toiled and hooked up my little air compressor to blow the water out of the pipes. The air compressor is a little 2 gallon job for air staplers. A bigger compressor would make the job go quicker. Stuffed the porch furniture into the storage sheds too. Winter is coming.

We didn't get quite as much rain here at the 'shaw' but at least 2" and I'm happy to say that there was no evidence that the back shop roof is still leaking. I think I finally discovered where the leak I've been chasing for 15 years is !!!! About TWENTY FEET from where it comes out on the bottom !!! Water must have been entering and traveling between the two layers of roofing before finding it's exit route.
Achto 27,601 #3270 Posted October 27, 2021 (edited) I cooked up the final fresh pickings from my poblano pepper plant tonight. Stuffed them with some chicken, black beans, cheese, and a few other goodies. Then cooked them in the smoker. Garnished with some sour cream and salsa with some white rice on the side. Yummy!!! Can't wait for the next growing season. Edited October 27, 2021 by Achto 5 3

Stormin 9,981 #3273 Posted October 27, 2021 Yesterday, removed the rotting wooden lintel from above the farm workshop door and fitted a new one. Sounds simple but was anything but. Door runners and door to replace yet. May get done today now the hard work's been done. Thought the weather has turned nasty. Heavy rain and high winds.
Pullstart 62,906 #3274 Posted October 27, 2021 Doing some slow, select cutting. This tree is over the shop, storage barn, chicken house and LP tank. Slow and steady does it. Might get on the barn roof with the saw and trim as much if the top as possible.
Pullstart 62,906 #3275 Posted October 27, 2021 Slow. Steady. Oh yeah, breathe. Just cleared the coop roof and brushed the fence but no damage. Break time. 2
