Copper116 63 #1 Posted April 30, 2020 I have a 1979 C101. 91-10K801. The axle measures 1.12" O.D. The brake shaft measure .771" O.D. I need to replace the seals on both shafts. I took one old axle seal to NAPA in hopes they could find me a match... even with reading the numbers on the existing seal; that was a no go. For the life of me, I can't find enough information to guarantee I get the right seals. I did call a toro dealer... and their price was very high. Any help would be appreciated. ebinmaine 68,345 #3 Posted April 30, 2020 I buy mine by the half a dozen for each given size off of eBay. @squonk Mike might be able to give you some Napa numbers. you could also get a hold of Lowell or Joette at Wheel Horse parts and more. One of our vendors.
Copper116 63 #4 Posted April 30, 2020 thanks guys... I'll look into both those leads. This old girl has been with me since 1980 I believe... she's not pretty but she's a good runner. It was time to clean her up and tune her up... The more I work on one issue... I find another; so since my work hours have been pretty much reduced to 15%... I've got time to get a few things done.. just getting parts at a fair price is a big issue. Thanks again

Copper116 63 #6 Posted April 30, 2020 I really appreciate it.... I've got 3 horses now.... 1 B-80 a C160 and this C101. One for mowing, one for snowplowing and the other one... a toy but possibly for my son in law.... he's tired of push mowing. None of them is pretty but I use them for work... and with steel cowls, steel fenders pans etc, cast iron motor and trans and angle iron frame... God Bless American Made equipment! I did find the seals (I hope) in the Wheelhorse store. thanks. 3

Copper116 63 #9 Posted April 30, 2020 Another uninformed question. How do I determine what model transmission I have. This one is a true 4 speed with Hi-lo range (8 speed).

Copper116 63 #12 Posted May 7, 2020 So far so good... no leaks while still parked in the barn.... just gotta get this blasted mower deck back on. What a troublesome thing to get back on... I've done it a few times in the past but it never gets any easier.

Another reason I love the electric lift I put on mine, makes this job 1000 times easier!
