520xi 48 inch mower deck not staying centered

Recommended Posts

GruntZilla

just bought a 520xi and it was delivered yesterday.  Needs a little work but seems a dream to work on compared to a 3000 cub.  It was not the well maintained machine of a person who takes pride in it, but its mine and allready a better tractor.

It has a 48sd mower and it will not stay ceneterd at the back of the deck and keeps shifting the right rear wheel of the deck shifts left to the point the assembly rubs on the tire.  Everything looks straight, but there is a ton of movement side to side on the rearmost bracketry.  Any idea where i should look to remedy this?

The xi mower frames have hangers that wear and allow lots of lateral movement at least from my experiences but let's try @shallowwatersailor John had a few of these maybe he can weight in on this subject.

I would try unhitching it and reinstalling the deck. One time I thought that I had it on correctly but it rubbed just like you mentioned. I tried a second time and it didn't rub. That was a while ago so I can't remember exactly what happened.
