JSally 1 #1 Posted April 30, 2020 Forgive me gang but I am pretty new to all of this. I inherited my grandpa's 1963 753 Wheel Horse about two years ago and have finally found the time to start restoring it. First major issue is fuel leaks in a few places, including the two piece gas tank. It seems to be a small leak around one of the bolts that hold it together but before I take it apart I need some input from the professionals. Will I be able to find another seal, because I am sure the old one is shot? Would I be better off using some good old fashion JB weld to fix the small leak and not open a huge can of worms? My mechanical ability is fair I would say but not too familiar with garden tractors. Any input would be great! Thanks. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Here is a thread from just this week discussing this. you could try a new gasket, there is a suggested sealant to use, you could try to weld the seam shut, or seal the tank with a sealer kit like KBS Coatings. WHX?? 49,486 #5 Posted April 30, 2020 (edited) Maybe try just try to tighten the bolts a very litte bit and keep just a bit of gas in it to try and swell the gasket.
