Transmission wont work

Recommended Posts

d200 :)

Hi. Im new to transmissions. I bougth a wh d200, got it to run and everything worked. Then i noticed a leak from hydro engine at the back. I replaced the seal and emptyied the oil in it. Put it back together and now nothing works. Do i have to purge it or is it somthing else that could be wrong. Sorry for my bad english.

Welcome  Where is skein??

What seal did you replace. There are no seals on the hydro motor part.  This is the manual for the hydro.  Look at  the parts diagrams, can you tell us where the leak was.

Just making sure I understand what you have.  Do the two hoses in the picture run to box like this mounted on the frame??

You have  a dampener  that was only used a couple years I am not familiar with them.  Does the lift operate???

Look at page 45.  any steps you may have missed ?

Did the cover come off easily or did it require effort.  The retaining spring clip may have broken...

Cavitation, vapor lock or whatever it's called, could the pump be a little weaker from long use and now it can't pull up the fluid on it's own after being completely drained? Is there a way to prime it, like using air pressure in the dipstick tube maybe?

Just kind of thinking out loud here since I'm unfamiliar with that transmission

This is the SPRING CLIP that pfrederi refers to.  It MAY have broken which is not all the uncommon.  I ahve a new one if wanted.

It is very likely that when you replaced the cover, you got it on upside-down.

The HYD MOTOR COVER has a 'web' on one side and that 'web' MUST be on top...  look at last pic.

Not coming up with any concrete answer...sorry.  Can you push the tractor around with the tow valve closed?

I have never had a problem with mine not repriming itself even after a complete tear down but i do not have the dampener valve.  It may make self priming harder..(just a guess)

You might open this port on the top of the pump and see if there is fluid.... This is also where you would run the pressure test shown in the manual..

Thank you for the  info. webing is upp. But could i damage the retaining clip just by oppening the cover ? I dident empy the hole system just the hydro pump. Was wondering if the release valve could be the problem could i try witout it.

The tow valve when open allows the hydro fluid to bypass.  Closing it forces the hydro fluid through the system.  if it doesn't close tightly it could be your problem.  I would start her up then open the valve at least a full turn   it may flush out something that is keeping it from sealing.    Then close it and see if function returns.

what kind brand and number filter is on it. also make sure the coupling between the engine and pump is OK and that the splined input shaft is not slipping.  Did you use any sealant on the gasket?  The diagnostic chart would have yu look in the transaxle but I don't think that is your problem,  something wrong in there the lift would still function.  i am afraid a pressure test as shown in the manual is the next step.
