Anyone have a video of your RJ with a garden plow plowing a garden?   Please post and indicate how you feel about the power of the RJ tractor to pull the plow

I found this one YouTube Lane.  It looks like with the appropriate sized plow, it works just fine :handgestures-thumbupright:

@WHX24 I thought that you pulled a plow with one of your lil guys. Any insight for Lane?

Sure did just for the halibut … a 401 with the diamond turfs to boot! Dino's little eight incher and actually worked  pretty good till I hit some roots from those spruce trees in the background then and up she come!  Even let @Rp.wh have a crack at it. Power wasn't really an issue you keep her on the pipe Lane. Traction more of an issue. Weights, front and rear would help. This 401 has a B1290 Clinton in it. The guy I brought this tractor from had a cool little disc for it he claimed he used all the time. Sadly would not sell with the tractor tho.

Ok  thank you Kevin and Jim!

A guy in West Virginia with an RJ and garden plow is having trouble with his belt smoking on the  first run of dipping his plow in the earth.

I gave hom all the pointers I could about issues he needed to check.

He has a new 1/2 x 29  belt, strong motor,  good cable and depth on plow can drop eight inches or more.

It is all original plow and plow point is good.

I suggested looking a pulley alignment and cleaning sidewalls on pulleys to see if ok for belt to ride clean.

Not sure what else.  He has an original 8 inch RJ type plow like you posted Jim.

Any more suggestions or ideas about his drive belt slipping and smoking??

Only thing I can suggest is I just come get the whole setup....

Seriously maybe try a 28 inch belt and of the rubber style but I have never had issues with the Kevlar style. Maybe a stronger clutch spring? Just thinking out loud here.

I sent him a new clutch spring!  That should do the trick.   He said his spring was very rusty so probably very weak also!!! Thanks guys!
