Terry T 1 #1 Posted April 27, 2020 I have this 37" deck on my 216-5. It is unusual in how it mounts at the rear--a metal pin covered with a plastic sleeve slips into a square receiver at the end of the lift arm. My issue is that there does not appear to be anyway to tighten the drive belt from the engine pulley as the pulley on the deck is mounted to a non--adjustable pedestal. Anybody have this mower deck and advise me as I have belt slippage and poor mowing results.
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,036 #2 Posted April 27, 2020 Your full deck model number is likely 05-37MS05. Here is a parts list. Click on the picture and download from that page. Item #20 must be an idler pulley because the arm it mounts on is spring loaded. Maybe the spring broke? It is a wind-up torsion spring. They want the pivot bolt greased also so maybe it is seized. A search of our files brings these up https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/search/?q=05-37MS05&quick=1&type=downloads_file Hers is an online parts list. If a part is priced it should still be available from Toro. You will have to pick the 37" deck from the selection. https://www.partstree.com/models/05-37ms05-toro-37-side-discharge-mower-deck-1985/side-discharge-mower-37-in-94-cm-8/ Garry
Terry T 1 #3 Posted April 28, 2020 thanks Tractor Data shows only 36" and 42" I tried various searches unsuccessfully, but you worked good magic. I was asking about adjusting the power belt from the engine--looks like the pedestal for the driven pulley is the adjustment I need
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,036 #4 Posted April 28, 2020 Take a look at the tractor illustrated parts list. This is the "Pto Clutch" page and the actuator rod from the pto handle appears to have threads for adjustment. https://www.partstree.com/models/22-16b501-216-5-toro-yard-tractor-1985/pto-clutch-15/ Many illustrated parts lists have service information on the model that often comes in handy. You can download the complete manual from our files Here is a very poor copy of a tractor service manual but see nothing on the pto adjustment. Garry
