my grandson just got the billy mitchell award , in the civil air patrol, promoting him to second LT  !  he is 4 years in and at 17 he looks you right in the eye  and talks to you like an adult . i am a very proud grampa , he is thinking about the air force , or school. i just love to have him around and figure where we are going to fish next. he was scheduled to go to VA for another training series , but that was cancelled. the way i feel about his advancement just had to be told . pete lena

Tell Him to Join The Air Force Reserves or Air National Guard Then at least He Can see if He will Like a Military Life Or Not while Going to school at which Point He Can go In the SMP Program and receive a commission Much faster than his Peers do to his enlisted service In the  Air Force Reserves or Air National Guard. I was a OCS Man Myself In the Army But choose Not to Take My commission and stayed enlisted & retired a Master Sergeant

My oldest Children(adopted Twins) I am only 11 years older then them.  Both did that They Joined the reserves first then went active Both are In the reserves today  My Daughter served as a MP In the reserves went active Duty She is now a Doctor In a reserve medical Unit. Her Brother Joined the National Guard Infantry went active Duty served In Haiti & Afghanistan Became a JAG officer In the reserves Is now a Intelligence Battalion Commander(Lt. Colonel) In the National Guard and a Federal Judge  Daughters a Eye Surgeon/Teacher By Day. Though she is  working In a ER currently do to covid 19

 

My Youngest son went active Duty first is Now In college. He keeps On saying he'll go Back to Active Duty.  I Hope He gets a commission in the  Engineer Branch  since He is going to school right now to be a engineer. I want to convince him not to go in the Infantry this time around if I can
