Adams94 1,068 #1 Posted April 27, 2020 Need some advice. I think my pto clutch might be bad, it will slip when running the tiller or 60” finish mower. I tried to adjust it but didn’t seem too help. Also the belt for the rear pto is on the inside groove and if I’m not mistaken it should be on the outside right? 8 2

Skipper 1,788 #4 Posted April 27, 2020 (edited) The belt should go on the big front pto pulley, to get the right rpm's on your rear pto. I assume you have the cone clutch? It looks like it from the pics. They slip easily when worn, and can be a hassle to find new linings for. When they are good though, they bite hard. I used to have a lot of trouble with slipping on mine too. Edited April 27, 2020 by Skipper

troutbum70 857 #6 Posted April 27, 2020 Also you may want to pull your pto hub and make sure the internal bearings have a nice thin coat of lubricating grease. This will allow the hub to spin freely on the shaft, which in turn allows it to get a better grip on the disk. There is a vendor in Sunbury, Pa that can probably help with rebuilt disk if required.
