The block sounds easier (and with a clamp system, maybe more easily installed/removed). I'll give this some thought. I'm nearly finished installing sliding seat rails on their tractor so that'll also help. The regular seat adjust is about 3" (with bolts)--the slides give 6 ½". There are both "longs and shorts" among the existing drivers and adjusting the seat was a pain. Better be sure this could work before that (and check in with the Dad)! Thinking out loud, though, my daughter in law is also of very compact stature and if this scheme made her more comfortable driving then maybe... Complications, though, since I'm looking at a 520-H with the tin next to the footrest and the gear reduction steering. How did you attach the pivot? It looks like it's the usual ¾" shaft--is it welded through or to the bottom of the frame or is it removable, e.g. with hairpin clips and washers? I'd need to carve a bit out of the footrest. Also have to check where the gear reduction steering's block falls and the lift bits. I do typically have them involved when we’re fixing stuff, but I think their dad is having me get it taken care of as a Christmas gift. Points out that a 520 is a different beast altogether from an 800 -- bigger and a lot more powerful. Very valid points. His position (which I fully respect) is "If the sliding seat rails you just added put her in reach of the regular pedal, then good--she was almost able to reach last year and she has grown some since then.
