well guys again i need some thoughts here as the other day i wanted to get the 73 out and run it around the yard as it has been a while ;but anyways all of a sudden the tractor will not go forward or reverse odd really but it happens ;i did check the transmission oil and it is right up there plus the parking brake is released ;i made sure that the valve to have it free wheel was closed as well but still it will not move ;i did notice as well that with the valve being closed the tractor rolls but it shouldn't if the valve is closed so i am wondering what has happened to it ;it has the 16 horse with the auto matic transmission ;any thoughts i sure would appreciate ;

thanks to the guys that replied as i really appreciate it but my thoughts are that the problem is in the motion control unit 'though i could be wrong as the key ways on the hubs are alright plus the belt does not slip ;as i have mentioned i did leave that valve open for a period of time ;not sure if that caused it or not ;i will keep you informed as to what the issue is at least i hope so ;again thanks

Take the cover plate off and watch to see that the plastic cam is moving as it should.

thanks and yes i have removed the cover plate and checked the plastic cam ;the thing is on this wheel horse it is so darn hard to find the correct small screw driver to line up with the slot so it could be adjusted but looking at it while trying to turn that cam it looks to me as it is turning as it is busted ;that is even before i turn the small set screw out ;it seems the previous owner who let his small boys mess with it could had done something they shouldn't had ;as i have 3 others that have the automatic and they adjusted very nice but this one not so much ;as before going forward and applying the pedal the shiftier would return to neutral but using the reverse and using the pedal it would not return to neutral as i have to use my hand to stop it ;confusing i know but i am trying to explain the best that i can ;o again i think the cam is the problem ;heck this is all new to me as i have always had standard types but i do like the automatics ;i will figure it out in time i hope ;again thanks so much ;
