formariz 11,987 #1 Posted April 26, 2020 (edited) With all of this time in my hands doing additional cleaning and organizing , also trying to keep my mind occupied with something else, dug out my old tool box. This was my tool box that I used as a Journeyman woodworker in NYC about 42 years ago from about 20 to about 35. It’s been striped of most tools over the years but there are still some originals in there. Brings back fond memories. I still remember getting the wood for it, and cutting all 66 dovetails by hand. I was the first one there to use such a box. That design came from the need to have everything organized and very important at the end of day to make sure all tools were accounted for. I was however young and perhaps a little foolish. Occasionally I had to move to another job and either had to take the subway or take a cab. You can see where the foolish part comes in. Lifting that thing full into the trunk of a cab was no small feat which was the easy part, the real accomplishment was taking it out. squonk 41,021 #10 Posted April 27, 2020 A machinist doesn’t want a big chest because it will get caught in the lathe!
