nramens 0 #1 Posted April 26, 2020 Hello, I was wondering what I would have to do to perform a diesel swap on a tractor. Thank you!
19richie66 17,500 #2 Posted April 26, 2020 Depends on the engine. Air cooled, liquid cooled, single cylinder, two or three cylinder, what size tractor would it be going in? Lot of variables 1
ebinmaine 67,266 #3 Posted April 26, 2020 Is there a specific engine or tractor you have in mind? We loves our pictures... @Cvans @Achto
SylvanLakeWH 25,490 #4 Posted April 26, 2020 Lots of different engine swap options. Just need to adapt it to the frame, make sure it fits under the hood and line up the belt(s)... If you do please post lots of pics!!!
Pullstart 62,784 #5 Posted April 26, 2020 @nramens we sure could bench race this one! A bit of fab work is to be expected... or just get yourself a DXi and call it good.
Cvans 1,009 #6 Posted April 26, 2020 (edited) Having some experience in swapping diesels into the C series WH tractors maybe I can help. The Chinese single cylinder diesels are a pretty straight forward install. Going with larger engines complicates matters. What are your plans for it after it's completed? For simplicity's sake sticking with an air-cooled engine for your first project makes good sense. Edited April 26, 2020 by Cvans 3

I used a Hatz 10hp air cooled engine. Here is a link to the build, there's a bit of reading to go through but there is some info on the install. 1
