cschannuth 3,816 #1 Posted April 26, 2020 My son has an ‘88 Mustang notchback roller and found a powertrain from a totaled, low mileage ‘90 Mustang GT. The seller had an engine hoist to load it but we only had the 520 FEL to unload it. It was probably not the smartest thing to do but we unloaded it without incident. I had to put my forks on so I could reach it to get it pulled out before re-rigging it on the bucket hooks. As you can see the lip of the bucket didn’t care for the 500 plus pounds hanging from the forks. Fortunately, once we got the load off the forks the lip popped right back into place. It’s by far the heaviest load I’ve ever had because steering was very difficult. I’m amazed what this little machine can do every time I use it. 3

I probably need to come up with a quick attach design for the bucket and then a frame for the forks so I don’t have to have the forks out in front of the bucket. It puts a lot of undue stress on the system because those forks are so far out in front of the tractor when they are attached to the front of the bucket. I was impressed with how stable the tractor was with that much weight out front and luckily I only had to move the engine a few feet and set it down. 1

I buckled the back top part of mine using the forks transporting a hydro roller that was stabbed under the rear axle from the rear. I bounced a little coming into the shop and she wrinkled a bit. I always wanted to weld a hook or D ring on the back, outside rear bottom of the bucket that I could use to pick up items with a chain. I thought I could curl the buck up and use it that way. Of course, I will weld it on the next time I need to use it that way.
