Good day everyone! Wondered what info folks to tell me about this Wheelhorse i will be getting sometime this week. It is from an old family friend his dad and my late dad were best friends we are just trading I am trading a mid 60's 112 round fender hydraulic lift with headlights for this horse! He tells me it is a no name and 14hp kohler with a high low tranny and has a valve that sticks. It is sad in a way i will be down to 1 round fender and i wont ever sell it. It was my dads favorite and it is old reliable starts ever time no matter the weather. Everyone have a good and safe week!

Are these a pretty good machine overall? This will be the newest horse i have ever owned! Also what could cause the sticky valve? and is there a simple way to fix it?

Nice rig!
It’s a 1973, essentially the same as the “C” series of the 70’s. All the attach-a-matic attachments will work on it.
It’s weird but its the last year WH used a 14hp Kohler ( in the States) ..until 1978 when the C-141 came on the scene. Not sure why the 14 wasn’t used from 1974 til 1978.

The only Wheel Horse I have (for now) is also a 14 hp, 8 speed no name.  It has been used mainly for mowing since the late 1970's.  Other duties include moving full size trailers and light hauling with the garden tractor trailer.  It has done all that we've asked it to.

New tires, new bearings for the mower deck, and normal engine and lubrication maintenance is all that has been required.
