Not certain yet till the front is done and wheel spacers are on the back. Probably a simple 2” per side

The electric steering unit is designed to use in conjunction with a vehicle steering box, thus gear reduction is in play. My dumb self didn’t stop to think about that. It just didn’t have the torque for 1:1.

I’m about done with the steering upgrade, although I’m not happy with it at all. The Howe racing quickiner works but it has more loose play in it than I want. Live and learn, pass on the information I guess. If I get sick of it, I’ll strip it and install an Orbital valve and make it all hydraulic.

66 lbs slug for each wheel, and I couldn’t find the perfect suitcase weights I wanted, so I came up with this rear weight monstrosity. I have end caps coming to hold them from sliding off, using a bungee strap for now.

Just a hydraulic Steering System ain‘t be best idea IMHO in case of a blasted pipe.

Without oil absolute no steering is possible on a plain hydraulic system.

so even a ride aside in a Safe Area is impossible with drained Oil.

 

 

I would go more a rework to a golfcart Steering, maybe this is also a Way for you to go.

They be available also electro Servo Supported or hydraulic Supported and be so better suited for

installation instead of just a hydraulic System

 

And you be able to emergency steer even with completely no Oil in the System.

I guess that’s is something to consider. Those kits are like $500...I’d hate to buy it, install it and it not work,lol

Searching also for such a Steering and finally i stuck at Golf Cart Steering for a Project i liked to built, before i bought my 656 Wheelhorse.

So i do lot‘s of researching ahead, but with the lack of any Shed or Workshop in that TimelinE, i trashed that Idea.

 

But now that i have my Own Workshop.... 😂

 

They be offered in the Bay from 90€ Incl. shipping.

Powersteering ones are available from 200€ - With electric Support, but that parts you allready have.
