TroxB 0 #1 Posted April 19, 2020 I have a 1996 416H which i was running a 42" rear discharge mower deck (Model 73421). i recently bought a 42" side discharge mower deck model (Model 78345) The PTO drive belt is too short for the side discharge am I missing something or is it a different belt? If the wrong belt what belt should i use? Current belt is a Wheel Horse 108834.Thanks for any help. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
8ntruck 6,991 #2 Posted April 19, 2020 The side discharge deck takes a different size belt than the rear discharge belt. I discovered that when I went from a SD deck to a RD deck last year. Sorry. I don't remember the belt numbers or lengths. Login the manuals section of Red Square for your deck model number. peter lena 8,583 #5 Posted April 19, 2020 i have 95 1/2" , for my rear discharge ,and 103" for my side discharge, if you would like to, look over all related moving areas, belt tension pulley, is a common noisy failing point, along with the slide mount nylon points. when you have changed out the belt, a fully mounted drive belt should easily move by hand . pete 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
