Pullstart 62,784 #2 Posted April 19, 2020 Woo hoo! Was it a “get it out of my yard freebie” or “get it out of my yard for a good deal” tractor?

He said get it out of my yard, I said take some money. So I bought the plow. 1 5
BillA 19 #4 Posted April 19, 2020 Looks like a great find. Congrats, deck looks to be in really nice shape. It's something how they can just jump on a trailer like that.
Bigtrx34 321 #5 Posted April 20, 2020 So I got this thing because it was shut off and then would not restart a few years ago (2 or 3) that told me it was a switch gone bad more than likely. The seat switch was looped out so that was "ok" so PTO must be the one. Well the switch was fine but the engagement shaft was wobbled out to the point that the switch was not fully engaged. A washer on the other side fixed that for now and she was able to roll over. Now I need to order a few things because she is not getting fuel. Pump may have dry rotted is my guess. As well as the tank seal for the shut off valve is beyond gone. I did get her to go on a snort of go go juice down the old wind pipe. So now that I know it will spark off I can put it back together and finish up the 520. 0419202040.mp4 1
Razorback 1,035 #6 Posted April 20, 2020 That's the same problem I fixed when I first got my 1974 C160. That PTO safety switch was intermittent due to the slop in the shaft. Works like a charm now!
Bigtrx34 321 #7 Posted April 20, 2020 (edited) Ok I swear I will go back to the 520 project. No no really I mean it I am done screwing around with the 160......... 10 min later! PS fixed the fuel issues. Just like I thought the pump baffle was dry rotted. 0420201520.mp4 Edited April 20, 2020 by Bigtrx34 2

God bless my wife she has always been supportive of my activities. While most guys are talking about how much their wife complains when they go duck hunting or work in the garage mine has always supported both. She always smiles and asks questions about what I'm working on even when I know she has no idea when I tell her, she shows the interest all the same and I suppose that's all I could ever ask for. I always tell her "she knew what she was getting into" as we have been together from the time I was a freshmen in high school. As for those horses... Right now it seems as they just stack up, I've got two jobs plus the whole home schooling thing a wife that works and is doing her masters programe (she is a rockstar) so I truly was not expecting to pick up the c160 when I did, my buddy had called to tell me he found some pipe for my dust collection system in his attic that a previous owner had left behind. Next thing I know I was loading up a tractor and a bunch of attachments. I'm happy to have it but lord help me sometimes I think I have fallen off my rocker. I'm sure the 520 will forgive me, I'm down to the meticulous stuff for the most part and to be honest I did need a little break from it. I love finding new tractors but after this last "find" one thing became glaring, the stables need to be expanded and quickly! When the Covid thing is done I should be able to get my plans approved by the city to expand my shop and fix that issue.

LandoCommando214 82 #13 Posted April 22, 2020 Awesome find. I picked up a C-160 Saturday also! 1977 Automatic with the same engine you have. Glad to see you still have the original headlight lens, I bet a lot of hoods are missing those now.
