I failed to do a step-by-step on the spindle assembly becauseI was waiting until I received the N.O.S. spindles in the post. This is all N.O.S except the housing. All parts laid out in order of assembly sequence.

great job on that  d man ! , i have added an extra idler pulley on the long unsupported stretch on the spindle belt , simply drilling a hole to bolt the pulley to  .  not much pressure on the belt , just enough to take out the belt  " bounce " , a before and after run ,verify  its  belt drive improvement. pulley is available at T/S for about 8 $ . thought with the extensive detail that you were doing , i would only offer this as a suggestion / improvement . pete

I had never thought about something like that, since this sort of went from a redo to more of a restoration, I think I may keep it to go with my resto-mod tractor and just redo one of my other 48" side discharge decks. Maybe the extra idler pulley would be something I could consider adding to that. Did you happen to take any pictures?

d man , no i don,t have a picture , but  on your last picture above , center deck above the tension spring, about 3 " above the single bolt head . i don,t have the belt cover frame , so  i drilled just at the flat to down bend discharge chute area. you can easily see the large unsupported belt length , pulley  right in the middle of that stretch, lightly pushing toward center of deck. just an experiment that i have on  5 decks , makes the deck quieter too, pete

That looks fantastic. You're doing a great job. My deck has 2200 hours on it and a few holes I patched over time but it looks no where near as nice as your deck.
