well guys i am back again as it seems i have convinced my neighbor to be a true wheel horse guy as now he owns 2 of the old lawn rangers which he sure does like ;but now he is looking at another though the face book market place where a seller  has a very old and rare ` wheel horse which the seller thinks it is a 1959 and a half which i have never heard of but it could be;but anyways the horse has been totally restore and the seller has had it for over 15 years in his living room ;it has never had oil or gas added as it was just a show piece ;the numbers are #K-91-7-4240563 the seller wants 800 dollars for it and my neighbor has offered 700 'so what the buyer would like to know if this old wheel horse is what the seller says or some thing different ;it is missing a few items and he isn't sure if he can find them so i ask you guys is this tractor what the seller thinks it is 'pictures added ;again thanks guys

and yes that attachment comes with it

It’s a RJ 59. Missing the belt guard and the muffler guard. Foot rests on it are from a much later tractor. Not sure attachment is Wheelhorse but it is pretty cool. It’s    legitimate . Seems a little pricey to me but it’s basically all there and it nice. Cool attachment. It would be good to know engine is ok.

The buyer can get reproduction belt and exhaust guards that are made to original specs if he does buy it.   They are usually listed on the internet for sale.

Looks like a nice tractor and a nice Fairbanks-Morse recoil starter and screen on the Kohler 4 hp.   Price is not out of line if the motor is good and the transmission shiftssin all the gears.   Check the rear axles to see if the oil seals are leaking .  Also check condition of the gas tank inside.

Love my RJ's !

Nice little tractor and I don't think the price is out of line if, like Lane said, the motor and tranny check out. It does need the top tin over the cylinder head. I didn't think the RJ's had the arched selector for the implement lift. Am I wrong about that???? :)

I was wondering about that too. Could have been made late in the run while the pant was transitioning to the Suburban.

wheel horse model 1959 1/2

I doubt that :wh: ever marketed the RJ as a '59 1/2 but it looks nice and well worth the money presuming the engine and transmission are good.   @Lane Ranger, take a look at the muffler, I thought a shower head would be right for the RJ. That looks more like a Nelson to me.     First manufacturer I recall having marketed a 1/2 year production was FORD with the '63 1/2 which incorporated the new roof line that was offed in '64.

Looks pretty nice and not out of line for what I’ve seen the few that come up for sale within driving distance.

All as mentioned above.

It would be good to have a list from the Seller of what his Restoration included?

Also What kind of paint was used rattle can or automotive?

Rough Reproduction Parts Cost.

Belt Guard $60

Muffler Guard $35

Foot Rest $50

Shower Cap Muffler - original  priceless

Air Filter $100+ original

Seat - Am I correct that should be a Solid Pan seat.

@upstate yank.  I'll trade him a seat as I have a tractor that needs a slotted one like that.

that's the same seat on early copar panzers with the slots,

with the attachment I don't think it's priced out of line, I don't like stirrup foot rests, also looks like the rear rims were painted with out taking them off the tractor, the hub and lug nuts are all the same color

thanks i will tell my neighbor it is a RJ 59 yep we saw that a few items were missing but never really looked at the foot rest ;i agree as if the motor runs but as the seller mentioned he has never added oil or gas to it ;no problem as he has decided not to buy it
