The newest Toro mower ! Flex Force!

Recommended Posts

Lane Ranger

Well my wife Ruth asked me to purchase her the newest form of Toro 22 inch recycler mowers recently!  It arrived via special carrier two days ago!

It is built very much like the standard 22 inch self propelled Toro. Mowers that have been around for 15 years but it is powered by a 60 volt lithium ion battery!  Less weight  and even has a bagger for clippings!

Twice the price of a regular motorized Toro 22 self-propelled recycler but no gas, no oil and it folds upright to store!

And it was what Ruth wanted to mow -so no debate needed!

Very cool!

They have a snow blower that uses the same battery, only slightly higher output for winter... can interchange...

Post some of your wife’s reviews... I’d be interested in how it performs...

I believe the lithium ion battery life is the L 324 life 324 watt  hours but who knows!

this is not the first battery device we have oss Ed bed.  We have a work weed eater and and heavier Oregon weed eater.

We owned a 2010 Toyota Camry hybrid which we loved !  Quiet as King Tut’s Tomb and never had an issue.  Great mpg, braking, and pick up when you hit the accelerator!

I am not sure how long battery will last but I figure the battery replacement  cost will be similar cost to buying gas, oil and other maintenance parts ( minus blades) which we won’t have to do!

However, Ruth wanted it so I ordered it!

Here is Toro's announcment last year introcuding the mower:

https://newsroom.toro.com/en/News/2019/04-30-2019-60V

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The legendary performance of Toro’s gas-powered products is now available in a battery-powered line. The company has just introduced three new mowers, a leaf blower and a string trimmer with Toro’s new Flex-Force Power System featuring 60V1 lithium-ion technology. A 60V snowblower will be available later in 2019.

“There’s a common perception that choosing a cordless battery-powered product means compromising on power or features,” says Chris Urlaub, associate marketing manager at Toro. “That’s not the case with the Flex-Force line. Our priority was to design for performance, first and foremost. These are full-featured products with the same performance as our gas products; they just happen to be battery-powered.”

As America’s No. 1 lawn mower brand,2 Toro understands that homeowners want a mower that’s easy to start, easy to use and easy to maintain. The new Toro 22-inch Recycler® 60V mowers are designed to save time with an extra-long 22-inch blade that allows homeowners to cut a wider path with each pass. Built on Toro’s No. 1 selling Recycler platform, these mowers cut nutrient-rich clippings into fine pieces and return them to the soil to promote a healthy-looking lawn. The mowers also start with the push of a button, and the deck is made of steel instead of plastic for added durability. Other features include Toro’s Personal Pace® self-propel system that automatically adjusts to the user’s walking speed, and SMART STOW®, which allows the mower to be stored upright, reducing the storage footprint by up to 70 percent.3

:confusion-confused:                  You could probably put that motor in an RJ and cruse around the Big Show.            :laughing-rolling:

I like it! :handgestures-thumbup:

My brother just purchased some Sthil battery stuff, per his wife's instructions, and he is liking it too.  Weed wacker, trimmer, and blower. He said she is now all in when doing the lawn work. :eusa-think:

For me it would be less fights with Ethanol Pearl! I got the sons JD up at the shop now.....carb issues, using regular fuel. :ranting:

I serviced my neighbor's gas powered recycler; he has been using a "professional small engine shop" since new.

They all must've thought that oil was optional on that machine as well; the dipstick was dry however I was able to extract ~5oz of tar-sludge from the sump.

I will be recommending this electric machine to them when that Brigg's Quantum gives up the ghost.  :scared-shocked:

How is it in use? Any issues? Wanna take it this season.

This mower is used mostly to trim around lawn edges, flowerbeds, etc.   it is a breeze to use.   This is not a self propelled model but Toro makes one battery powered.    The battery lasts every mow and charged fast.

very quiet and light to move.

Picked this up few weeks ago. Mow 3 lawns a week with it. Very impressed. Only use about 70% of the two 20 v batteries to do all three lawns…

Looks fancy! Glad she likes it.

All you new battery mower buyers can send your old ones to me. I'll give them a good home.

Doesn't have quite the same smell as a petrol mower!

I've had a Worx electric mower for about 10 years.  24 volt system using two sealed lead acid batteries.  On my second set now.  First set lasted 4 or 5 seasons.  I think I'm on my third blade.

Been happy with the machine, even though it is mostly plastic.
