Rotten little thieving gray devils....

Let the neighbors spend their life savings making the squirrels fat.

Two years ago those thieving Gray devils completely cleaned off both of my Pecan Trees.

They are no longer welcome here.  There are way too many in my neighbor hood.  I trapped and relocated over twenty of them, and I don't think I made a dent in their population.  I at least got two 5 gallon buckets of Pecans, but I probable should have got 6.

Sorry for my rant!  Did I mention my wife makes great Pecan pies and wonderful Dew Berry pies.

Sorry, I'm with @oliver2-44 & @ebinmaine. Those D@*% "tree rats" can find their own food, I'm not feeding them! I had those SOB's take residency in my attic once, they were not easy to evict. I would close a hole up with steel at 7:00am, they would have a new hole chewed along side the patch by 4:00pm. :angry-cussingblack:

I've had as high as 30 in about a 20x20 square. They get a gallon of sunflower seeds a day...

When I beat on the bucket they come from all directions. They know the sound of the dinner bell.

Same with the deer. They get a gallon of corn. Had up to 14 at one time..

Several years ago, I had a yard with a couple of pecan trees in it. That's when I earned my Marksman badge with the squirrels. At that time, I had a coworker (the one responsible for getting me interested in hunting, firearms, reloading, etc...). He and I were talking at work one day. When he heard that I was thinning the herd, he asked what I was doing with the squirrels. I said I was throwing them in the trash, of course!!  After that, he would drop everything and come by the house when he knew there was fresh squirrel to be had.

(I thank GOD that I have never been hungry enough to find out if squirrel was good to eat. If that ever happens, though, squirrel will be the first thing I look for.)

Wrong species @stevebo :-)

It’s whistle pigs that are on my seek and destroy list.

I couldn’t get rid of them if my life depended on it. I have a property full of Hickory, Walnut, and Beech trees.

Beech

Our forest is roughly 70% beech.

But we have fun trying....

BBT Trina has my old 60s or 70s fiberglass 25 lb recurve bow from Cub scouts.

It's been successful some as well.

Don't get me wrong. I love animals. I'm not a hunter, but I won't deny anyone that hunts the right to do so. When I was a kid, I shot a squirrel in the hind leg with a BB gun. Poor thing ran around all day on three legs and I felt terrible. However, as I've grown older, I have developed an unmitigated hate for squirrels. Several years ago they got into my engine compartment and did $2500.00 worth of damage with those constantly growing front teeth of theirs.

Having said that, the only thing that I would add to this little guys picnic is a glass of antifreeze to wash it all down.
