Hear stories here everyday of volunteer EMT s many in their 20s that selfishly go into peoples homes in emergencies and many are now infected. Those are special human beings when they are not paid and don't have to do so, but nevertheless put the needs of others ahead of theirs.
c-series don 8,663 #6 Posted April 17, 2020 In 1982 my local volunteer fire department started a junior program for kids 12-18. I went to the very first meeting, I was 12 years old, staying in that organization until I was old enough to join the big boys at 18 years old. Almost 32 years later I’m still a very proud and active volunteer. Although I’m no longer an interior fireman, I am mainly a truck operator. Engine, Tanker, and Brush/crash truck. The fire department is my second family which I probably will be a part of for the rest of my life. It literally has helped shape me into the person I am today. Last Friday evening all the surrounding departments and ambulance organizations got together and formed a a parade of trucks and ambulances and did a drive by at the local hospital. When I came up to the ER and all the health care workers were outside I became overwhelmed with emotion. I was so god damn proud of everyone I couldn’t hold back the tears. As they now say “we are all in this together “ Thanks for reading and God Bless America! 1

oliver2-44 9,679 #10 Posted April 17, 2020 I was an EMT as a side part of my work for many years until they stopped that part of the Safety program. My respect and thanks to all the volunteers for what they do.
