C125 motor mounts

Recommended Posts

Is there any specific reason to use the shaker plate? Can I just bolt the engine directly to the frame with spacers instead? I may pick up a c125 but not sure if theres a shaker mount with it. Thanks guys

I have never had a tractor with

the shaker mount. All my horses

bolt directly to the frame.

If the engine is for a shaker mount it will not direct bolt to the frame the drop in the oil pan will be in the way.  you can make spacers to hold it up and may have to drill a hole or two in the frame.

There are solid mounts available that replace the rubber mounts between the soaker tray and the frame.

Check the vendor's section, or maybe another member can provide details.

Solid spacers in  lieu of the rubber spacers will work fine. No added effort just direct replacement... but you can’t bolt direct to frame. The spacers are on an angle raised up from the frame by two parallel mounts. Engine is cradled in between them...

I saw the solid mounts available but I'm not sure the shaker plate is available if it is missing. The motor I'm wanting to use bolts to the frame currently.

If you have a motor that has the oil pan to mount to the frame then you can mount directly to frame no shaker plate needed.

I guess I would just have to figure out height for the belt guard and pto engagement to line up correctly. Also gotta figure out where to mount to the frame so belt will work etc. The current owner is gonna check if he has it but said hes not sure.  Or maybe just try and locate a shaker mount ebay or marketplace.

WHX??

Was going to say Mark one the fellas here would have a shaker plate. Some where I have the triangle pieces for underneath if you need them.  Here's the solid mounts. Lots of guys just make their own but this was plug & play for me.

I am pretty sure that the non-shaker plate engine and the shaker plate engine both have the same height crank, as to where you’ll need no different belt guards or anything.  I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong... or maybe just setting the engine in place and installing the belt guard will tell?

If the new engine is a large base block bolted directly to the frame you can bolt it directly to your tractor just remove the shaker plate.  (This assume it is from  a Wheel horse, oil pans for wheel horse had 2 threaded holes in the bottom of the pan to mount to the right frame rail engines from other brands may not have the holes.  You would have to source a correct oil pan or use J hooks)

I don't have a C-125,   But some one on here does and I am sure they could give you the frame to crank height.

I would not install a shaker plate. IMO, this was one of WHs bad ideas.

Just add spacers or washers to get the engine to the proper height required for the belt guard and belt  to function.     Your pan should have two tapped holes on the right side that should line up with holes in the frame.  If it does not have these tapped holes, some have used  "J" bolts hooked under the frame on the right side.

My current engine is the wide base oil pan that's mounted on a charger to the frame.  I guess top of frame to center of crank would be the measurement needed to see if a shaker plate is needed or not if someone is willing to help Haha

I am not sure what you are trying to do..are you replacing the engine on the charger?

The C-125 you are considering have an engine on it??? If it is a shaker mount and is installed what is the issue????

If you want to put a shaker mount engine (small base) directly on the frame without the shaker plate you will need spacers like this

I have a charger that I just swapped a 312 motor onto it. Being it's a charger the previous owner really cobbled the front attachment mount onto it for the use of a 79360 snowblower. Angle irons pushing the hood up above the mount and a 1/2 inch plate of steel as a mounting plate behind it. Really cobbed looking to say the least but i do give credit it worked all this winter. A 1980s c series roller came up and I'd like to swap over the engine to that as its correct years for my snowblower and mower deck plus it has a hydraulic lift. So I'm looking to move the motor from the charger to the c series roller.

OK  Got it.  That will be easy.  just throw away the shaker mount on the c125 and bolt on your charger engine....Everything should line up.

Good move....You'll luv the hyd lift when blowing snow.           Then look for a cab and a foot motion control.

OK 341 should bolt directly to your frame. The right side should hang over the frame and bolt in the bottom . The left side should bolt through the oil pan.

No a shaker plate (small base K341) will not hang over the side, the oil pan is smaller. You will need some spacers. like these

Any idea the spacer thickness?

You need 3/4" lift.  I used the half inch thick spacers from a K181 shaker mount plus 3 SAE washers to get it.
