Wheel horse sweeper - will it fit my 1054?

Recommended Posts

I am looking at a sweeper for my 1054, I am not sure if the one in the pictures will fit or not? I am not sure how it is supposed to fit, unless it is supposed to fit instead of a snowplow?

Also I can see no tensioning system for the drive belt?

Lastly, where can I find a new brush for it?

It looks to me like part of the mounting system might be missing.

If you weren’t so far away, I’d offer to take that 1054 off your hands to rid you of the hassle!  :handgestures-thumbupright:

I have never seen one like that either, the hitch that attaches to the tractor is needed. Looks like a tow hitch type receiver. Could be made, if the price is right I would grab it.

A simple question: Is that really an official Wheel Horse accessory? Some of the design features just don't look like typical South Bend Indiana engineering. The gray drive shaft cover and pillow block don't look like they were designed in the era before Wheel Horse was acquired by Toro.  And with the repaint, it would be trivial to add the Wheel Horse decals. It almost looks to me like a homemade unit that utilizes some commercial features, then painted to look like a WH overhaul.

I truly don't know...just asking the question.

Thank you all,

I agree, I don't think this is original. I will ask the seller for details. Even if he have the acessories to make it work, I am still worried about how well a homemade solution will work...

Power Brooms and many other attachments could be had as an accessory for a Wheel Horse but weren't made by them. The power brooms were driven by a hydraulic pump like the one @pfrederi has in the photo below. I would say you need a bunch more parts to make it work.

I managed to find a picture of another WITH the attachment and tensioner wheel! This is also said to fit a Wheel Horse, so I guess it does fit at least some type of our tractors. Can any of you see what tractor this will fit from the attachments?
