After having to thaw one like that I'd put a transmission clean out or rebuild on the must-do list. 2
WHX?? 48,821 #104 Posted February 10, 2022 Agreed EB... truth be told I was never a fan of recommending just flushing. Ok for the guys that are afraid to split one I guess. There's just no way flushing is gonna get all the crud out. Always nice to eyeball that third gear & input shaft too. 1

ebinmaine 67,535 #108 Posted March 15, 2022 From my 2 for 2sday contribution 2day I give you, 2 axles. On the right is of course a stock Wheelhorse axle in brown. On the left is the miniature custom built axle that was on one of the projects we took home from the auction three or four years ago. This axle became the front of Colossus. The blue lines are where I cut it to put the expansion pieces in.

Nothing better than a nice rear. That was my first 520, you never forget your first girl. 1

JCM 9,168 #114 Posted March 15, 2022 (edited) Nice wheels, covers, tires and seat w/ armrests on that 520. Tractors pretty clean too. @WHX?? Complete with tiller Missed the steering wheel spinner, how's that work out. Thinking of one for the other brand with power steering. WHX?? 48,821 #116 Posted March 15, 2022 (edited) Thanks Plunge is was a very clean tractor when I got it about 5 years ago. Had to go fibland to get it but for 1700 clams it came with a cab, single short chute, solid 48in. deck and a genny, a huge lawn vac with a 5 hp Briggs so worth the drive. I have the deuce on it now. Sold the tiller to Lowell and wished I hadn't done that but pretty much a sno machine now. Sold the lawn vac too. Yah you gotta have a suicide knob on any tractor with gear reduction or power steering. All my 520's have them. Edited March 15, 2022 by WHX?? 1

I have a couple more of these engines, and I like them enough to repower stuff that doesn't really need it! They are so smooth and powerful, and run forever on a tank of gas. 1
