Mike Sok 0 #1 Posted April 14, 2020 Does anybody know what is the shaft size on my 10hp engine? I would also like to know if I can put a bigger deck on and possibly a plow?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,194 #2 Posted April 14, 2020 Welcome to the forum. Most likely a 1" diameter pto shaft. The D&A in this folder is a file that has details on the tractor model and the A is the attachment list in 1977 for the tractor. Like other Wheel Horse models you are not restricted to just those attachments. As improvements were made they used a different model number so many may fit. Click on the fuzzy picture. A search for A-100 in our library brings up 29 results on 2 pages https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/search/?&q=a-100&type=downloads_file&search_and_or=or&sortby=relevancy Garry
horseyheaven 113 #3 Posted April 15, 2020 Not sure of shaft size, I will check mine tomorrow with a mic and let you know. You can plow with them. I have a snow plow, weights, and chains with mine. Mine has 36” rear discharge deck. Only decks I have seen on them are 36” RD and 37” SD. The deck and plow are not attach a matic like the larger tractors. The deck attaches way different and getting the motor to deck belt to work may be an issue. The blade goes on a couple of steel pegs on the front of frame with cotter pins. I will get model number of blade if that helps. If blades are sharp and mowing in 3rd gear, you can keep up with much larger mower decks. They are fast on the ground and will mow pretty high grass in 3rd gear. They also plow well for what they are (but still prefer larger c series for snow). Mine was left to me after my uncle passed and I have kept it as an heirloom. I use 520 WH and Simplicity/Allis-Chalmers tractors with 60” decks now. However, I still get the A100 out for fun sometimes. I’ll get back with you tomorrow.
horseyheaven 113 #4 Posted April 15, 2020 Hi Mike The shaft mics out at 1" exactly. The id number on plow is 76-42BA01-9761 7069 Here are some pics of the plow frame so it gives you an idea of the hookup. The actual blade itself is the same as used on all of the other larger wheel horses and the pins go through the front of plow carriage the same way. Hope this helps.
