bo dawg 516 #1 Posted April 12, 2020 Just found this chrome paint at Auto Zone and thought Id give it a try. They said it was new to the store they didn't know much about it. I think I'm gona try it on some wheels. That have a few other colors, and the Red looked really cool but at $11 a can I will just play with the silver first. Says painting over gloss finish is better, no prep work other than wash project with soap and water and dry. 2

bo dawg 516 #14 Posted April 18, 2020 It’s not bad, takes several coats. I’ve learned that the effects is all in the color you’re putting the silver Crome paint on. I went with the silver stock painted wheels to put it on. I shot a little on my saw horse that had some gloss black and I really like the effect of it. Just have to play around. I will paint the next wheel black and then hit it with silver Crome and red Crome. I think......

Zeek 2,286 #16 Posted April 19, 2020 (edited) That's a cool look, something different!! I've used some of Rustoleum's "hammered metal" paint on things like car underbodies and tools and it came out pretty good! Edited April 19, 2020 by Zeek
bo dawg 516 #17 Posted May 3, 2020 Well I finally got around to putting the new painted wheels on a tractor, now need to get the fronts painted. I assume I will paint the same way. Any suggestions? 5 4

12Horse Paladin 1,038 #20 Posted May 23, 2020 Mine did not come out as shiny, and i am NOT a painter, so yes, i kno there are flaws & i prolly put on too many coats but i dont have a great eye for this, i dont think. But in the end decided to keep it as you see it; i think ill like the look on the Horse it's going on; itll 'fit it'; the look im after😉😊
The Tuul Crib 7,336 #21 Posted May 24, 2020 I would go with the front wheels painted red as a contrast to the rear wheels and maybe the center cover grease cap painted silver.
