D_Mac 8,593 #51 Posted April 13, 2020 That sprocket on the bottom moves when you pull the handle on the left side. It moves but dosnt lock in place and dosnt appear to do anything. I didnt look at the wagon to carefully. I dont think they are C-clamps it seems very solid but I will have a closer look. We are supposed to be having 70mph winds today so I may not get a chance to do anything to it today since my garage isnt that big so I work outdoors. The chain on the rear wheel has no purpose as far as I could tell either.
Tractorhead 9,064 #52 Posted April 13, 2020 First just Whow, who ever build that Tractor, set a lot of Brainstorming ahead. I see a several marks and adjustable items, that will become a Interesting Project. This Tractor ain‘t for the dump, in it‘s own Way it is a Beauty like a Steam Punk Art. What it make worth, to fix. Maybe it is a Challenge, but you just can Win a lot of knowledge on the Way until it‘s beeing Working again. Because there is no electrical crap on it, it is easy to fix, just a lot to Screw. With the help and guidance from the Redsquare crowd knowledge, you can bring it back in Service again, i‘m sure.

Hmmm there it goes < shrug > Looks pretty safe huh ? How can you possibly get hurt riding this? Better get a tetanus shot. Could the hood be off a Gibson? It does say something under the gas tank. You can read... LAWN then the tank blocks the rest but an R at the end. Lawn Tractor maybe I dont know. what's the chain on the inside of the rim? the trailer looks like a front axle and rims off a case/ingersoll Edited April 13, 2020 by jabelman
D_Mac 8,593 #57 Posted April 13, 2020 (edited) Yeah I have no idea what that chain is for. On this tractor it does nothing. So yes after messing with the carb and freeing up the cables I got it to run. Now the scary part is getting it to drive. I want to lift the rear end and put it on a couple of jack stands but I dont have either. I am not sure about any shift pattern and there dosnt seem to be any brakes on the thing. The red lever does nothing. Need some help on the other two. I havent tried moving either one just yet. What would your educated guesses be as to what each of them might do? I dont want to lock it up in gear and not be able to roll it. Been there done that before. I am also disappointed that my headlight dosnt work ! SylvanLakeWH 25,490 #58 Posted April 13, 2020 Just a guess but I'm thinking forward and reverse? They seem to control two separate shafts exiting the transmission, with the pulleys providing the power from the other side...
diesel cowboy 263 #59 Posted April 13, 2020 Four bolts and you can pull the cover off the top of the trans and see what happens inside when you move the levers without having to worry about it running away while its running and less of a chance getting it stuck in 2 gears too

D_Mac 8,593 #61 Posted April 14, 2020 Well, much progress on the project today. I figured out it does have brakes but the brake cable was broken. So I replaced the cable. Next I got the rear end up off the ground and tried to figure out the gear box. Got that figured out . Smaller lever to the outside is push it forward 1st gear, pull it back reverse. Inside taller lever, push it forward 3rd gear, pull it back 2nd. Next was... you guessed it..... jump on and see if it goes...... SUCCESS !!!! I cant believe its moving under its own power. Saved from the scrap yard !! I wish I had means to improve it further but I am happy I got it this far. I am going back to the gentleman I got it from. He also offered me a roller and a plow frame with a blade on it. I believe the plow fits this tractor. If it dosnt I am going to cut off those brackets someone welded on the tractor. Kind of hard to get on and off it with them on. Also there is no place to put your left foot when your on it. 2 2

Tractorhead 9,064 #64 Posted April 14, 2020 Great, you did it, as i allready mentioned, i had no doubt about ! Congrats
D_Mac 8,593 #65 Posted April 14, 2020 Thank you ... but I had many doubts. See if I cant find a couple of headlights for it. I never have good luck getting those to work. Comes to electrical work I am clueless. Whats every ones opinion on the rear tires? Leave the ones that are on it ? With or without the hub caps? Tractor tires ? Tractorhead 9,064 #66 Posted April 14, 2020 (edited) Some fellas here changed the Bulbversion of their horses with LED versions in round, that could maybe fit to your Tractor. i dunno if this Engine have a lightcoil or a chargercoil either. how much wires go from the Engine to Dash? is there a unfunctional switch? That could be the light Switch. If there is one cable from the Engine, get a Volt meter and check if there can be measured someting to groung. Btw, i vote for the actual tyres for the moment. SylvanLakeWH 25,490 #67 Posted April 14, 2020 I like the tires that are on it, looks cool, but depends on what you're going to use it for - actual work or a show-stopping beauty queen?

I have to laugh at both. I live in city have small yard that has zero use for a tractor so that leaves out the work part. Has far as a beauty queen ? In the eyes of the beholder I guess. Wish I had the skills to fabricate some foot pegs and some protective guards for it. There are alot of moving parts. Some in the area where you dont want moving parts if you know what I mean. @ebinmaine I dont have a YouTube account, heck I dont even have Facebook, or Twitter, none of that. Since I only come on here from my desk top computer I cant email videos cause they are to big, by the time I shorten them they are like 8 seconds. Guess I will stick with photos. Plan on going to get the plow this weekend. If it fits on this thing I guess I will change the tires and wheels on it. If you look close at the tractor you can see where the guy welded that bracket between the wheels. I cant see any purpose for it. Maybe its a bracket for the plow frame? He also has in the shed a piece of equipment that looks like you tow behind a Big Tractor. It has a seat on it and a bunch of levers and such, not sure what it does. He didnt know either. I cant haul it away but if I remember I will take a photo. Im sure someone will know what it is. Edited April 14, 2020 by D_Mac

Can't help on the trans as I've never dealt with any of those other than the T-92. If it was mine I'd get the thing running and enjoy using it, it looks cool and unique @diesel cowboy had it right on the money. The hood is off a BONANZA lawn tractor. Same as mine but this hood lacks the round vent holes that mine has. Otherwise same grill and dash. Mine they moved the steering through the dash and not the top of the hood. Notice the pull cord through the dash. Speedex rear end and frame. Great eye Cowboy ! 2
