Tedwoodbear 1 #1 Posted April 11, 2020 Hi, we've just joined the forum. We are in the uk. My 12 year old son has recently bought a fibre glass bodied lawnranger. We've put new engine oil in, new plug, inline fuel filter and air filter. We were thinking of changing the transmission (peerles 617, 3 speed?) fluid. It seems there are plenty of different opinions to what the replacement lube should be. The bentonite grease seems to be an option but expensive. Considering the machine is getting on for 50 years old, are there more suitable modern lubricants available? Thanks, Mike and Ed.

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,096 #3 Posted April 12, 2020 Welcome to the forum. This model used the 617 and you can see the lube chart. Click on the fuzzy picture. On the page that comes up are more pictures click on them - 2 of them are the lube chart for 1969. T2 calls for SAE 90 gear lube. Garry
