Painting some old rj wheels and tires today

Recommended Posts

Painting up some old wheels and tires from an RJ that I am redoing !   Used some Valspar Antique White because that is what I had four cans of and used on the front wheels and now on these rear.

usef about the last bit of my original M. E. Miller black tire paint concentrate today!  Bought this bottle more than ten years ago and used on many sets of tires ( also have lots away to folks as the concentrate would last along time and do many tires with just a small amount)!  Now have the ready to use bottle which is just not as good.

Looks good!  I also use the Miller tire paint.  I also like the Rugley tire conditioner from NAPA.

i use an old rear axle/transmission from a MTD something or other. With the tires still mounted to the thing, it is easy peasy to put the axe on end and spin the wheel to be painted. One tire of the axle is on the floor and the differential lets the top one act like a turn table on a record player.

Your spray can does not hardly have to move and the coat of paint it lays down is even as can be. i painted 24 wheels in one afternoon using this method
