Hunting & Fishing Camps

Do any of you guys have pictures of camps you have spent any time at over the years and would like to share, The first camp is one that was built to take place of the original camp that was washed downstream after very heavy rains and the only thing remaining in the picture is a small outdoor stone fireplace which is pictured here. I do have pics of the original camp but would have to scan them and post at a later date. Also the Cabin that I have posted pics on here at the property where we now live was built to resemble the one that washed down the Stream for sentimental reasons as it was that camp was the first one I had ever been to at 17 years of age and I hold that dear to my heart. That camp was what they call a tar paper shack but very dry and comfortable. The second camp was owned by a gentleman who was a Millwright and Maine Master Guide who worked in the Paper Mills. I was invited to that camp to hunt out of but not guided as he was retired when I spent a week there in Northern Maine.Check out the mouse house next to the coffee can, When we opened the oven there was a similar nest there as well and he mentioned we were having homemade biscuits for breakfast the next morning, needless to say I passed on the biscuits. Also there was heavy rains that week and came across an obstacle on the way out, nice to have a shovel and tow strap when in the backwoods.     Enjoy the pics.

Beautiful pics Jim.

Thanks for sharing!!

The quiet and beauty up nawth is incredible.

Our "camps" have been tents so no pics of buildings to show.

Wonderful times though.

I've said it before... Trina and I would absolutely live in a little place like these with a BIG shop.

Looking forward to seeing what others post.

This my family's hunting camp and it is also the house my father and his twin sister and two younger brothers grew up in. My father and his youngest brother were the previous caretakers, now myself my brother and two cousins are the caretakers. We have 123 acres mostly wooded, where the pavilion sits now way back in the day was a dairy barn. They milked a dozen jersey cows, raised pigs and chickens and my grandad worked in the coal mine 3 miles away. Had no electric so no running water and an outside privy. It sure is not a fancy camp, but it sure holds a lot of memories that will go with me all the way to the pearly gates.

Yes,  During a previous marriage.  Lol.   We lived just outside of town on Keystone St.  I worked for Tri-County International Truck back then.

My Sister and BIL lived on Large St.  back in the '60s.  They now live on a farm near Sand Patch that  borders the Meyersdale public  watershed  where the cabin is built.

I lived in Wellersburg and graduated from MAHS in 1961.

The South Central part of PA is one of the most beautiful areas that I have lived. Wonderful if you enjoy the great outdoors and motorsports. I spent many days and nights at Listie tractor pulls and Jennerstown raceway.  What found memories.
