Fungus221 6 #1 Posted April 7, 2020 (edited) Hi all rebuilt the deck on my 312-8 WH a few years ago and now I am thinking it would be a good Idea to replace one of the spindle housing as on one of them, the caseing has deteriorated so much that I think the belt is pulling it out of level. over here in the UK parts for the wheel horse are rarer them hens teeth and to get them from the import duty from the US almost doubles the cost. Has anyone found a suitable fix alternative that mite work? Or would has anyone made one up on a lathe? Interesting thought? any help would be Any help would be appreciated Fungus221 P.S. spindle houseing no. 114568 or spindle assembly no. 110172 Edited April 7, 2020 by Fungus221 extra info
daveoman1966 3,745 #2 Posted April 8, 2020 Spindle housing 114568 is about $45 in the USA. New whole assy 110172 is about $115. If the belt is straining so hard as to deflect the verticle attitude of the spindle assy, maybe unbolt it and turn 90 or 180 degrees ...remount....to MAYBE relieve strain on the weakest side of the housing. Just a thought.
