midpack 911 #1 Posted April 7, 2020 Not even sure what a new set of Tie Rods goes for, but I like the idea of using Heim Joints for them. these cost me about $45 plus some time at work to make the shafts. I thought of making them "turnbuckle" style but I don't have a left hand tap a sharp eye might notice it took me a couple tries to get the shaft length I wanted. lol 5

peter lena 8,838 #4 Posted April 7, 2020 midpack, nice job on those ! being a heim joint nut myself , i can relate on their use and function , your transition picture says it all . what ever linkage issue you have , you could add a heim joint if you want to, find the difference in linkage function , almost effortless , pete

I used the original tie rods, cut the ball end off, turned the ends down to 3/8" and threaded them at 24 pitch. If the ends ever need to be replaced again I think that I will use Heim joints like you did. 5
