WHNJ701 4,165 #1 Posted April 4, 2020 long story short, new neighbors up the road 4 houses away cleaning up the property said they found something in the woods, they were going to junk it. to bad the grill was gone. I have some junk rims and tires that I will mount up to it. it will make a nice addition to one of the gardens unless I get some stupid idea to try restore it 5
SylvanLakeWH 25,533 #2 Posted April 4, 2020 Little grease, some PB Blaster, few parts, maybe some Regal Red - no problem...! 3

ZXT 2,401 #4 Posted April 4, 2020 Excellent find! I'd never heard of Amigo tractors, but i just read up on them some. Formed by a couple of guys at the DEMCO corporation in a small shop, and eventually sold to AMF. There don't appear to be many (less than 100) out there from what I read. I'd ask your neighbors if they've come across any of the sheet metal for it!
WHX?? 48,814 #5 Posted April 4, 2020 (edited) Welcome to the 'hood Jason... mines a bit better shape but still a project. Definitely the odd ball in my herd. I have a feeling it might go down the road tho. The horses I got that need love might be years 'for it's even on the skedule. I did get the K141 to run. @CasualObserver has got first dibs. There's a few manuals on GT talk but not much out there you get the hair to resto. Even a carcass like that is a rare find. The front grille is all cast and puts a 953 to shame. Bet it goes 500 lbs dry. Transmission is somewhat like a shuttle shift and a work of wonder. Also has turning brakes. I thought I remembered someone here had one. kinda was the last thing I expected to find today, when they said tractor parts I was thinking some 1980s riding mower. before you send it down the line maybe measure up the hood and grill, I doubt another grill will appear, thinking about getting creative with the plasma cutter.

JCM 9,130 #11 Posted April 5, 2020 So Jim, your a member of the other brand club, been holdin out on us ?
WHX?? 48,814 #12 Posted April 5, 2020 That front is key. Jason the hood tho is equally heavy. It's not just sheet steel and would be very hard to repop. I'm thinkin for what you have there a resto might be out of the question or would give new meaning to a labor of love. Transmission parts might be worth their weight in gold. On the other hand these are not worth alot to us collectors because of parts availability. Nobody wants to tackle them 'cause of that. I have see a few at shows tho and figured to grill the owners like a sammich on info about them before I have a go at mine. Ther is a small smattering of them on FB if you are so inclined. No matter you still got a blast from the past. You need some pics or whatnot don't befraid to ask... she's buried deep back n in the fake garage but can always get to her. Jim @oliver2-44 likes them too.

SylvanLakeWH 25,533 #15 Posted April 5, 2020 Maybe something along the lines a "Franken-Amigo" until / if real parts come along... WH hood WH wheels WH Kohler WH seat WH_______________... You get the idea... Just musing... 1
WHNJ701 4,165 #16 Posted April 5, 2020 no, unfortunately not much is going to happen with this one. decades of the nj elements have seized everything solid, the trans is open filled with dirt, the cast "tunnel" is cracked in half. sure anything can be saved, but i will piece together what I can, put wheels on it and i will find a nice spot to park it. at least now I can say I have an amigo in the collection. what is amazing is that the fiberglass dash is still in piece. 2

'Fraid not Sylvia... other than our Kohler, which it is mounted ala cub style these guys have their own proprietary stuff. I suppose you could do a Franken horse Amigo but that wouldn't be up my alley. I like original.... 'course some others here who shall go unnamed might have a field day.
