Achto 27,505 #1 Posted April 4, 2020 Apparently when you tell millions of people to stay home it has a direct impact on fuel prices. Here is a picture from my home town. On my way to support a local restaurant in a town 10 miles to the west of me I spied this sign. Plus my Shell rewards card knocked another 5 cents per gallon off. Honestly it has been a long, long time since I've filled a tank on a pickup truck for less than 20 bucks. 8
Sparky-(Admin) 21,307 #2 Posted April 4, 2020 Wow! We are nowhere near that low...yet. The two local stations just went under 2 bucks a gallon this week.
ZXT 2,401 #3 Posted April 4, 2020 We're down to 1.34 at the local station. We haven't been above around $2.00 a gallon around here for the last couple of months. Nothing above probably 2.40 a gallon for the last couple of years.
ebinmaine 67,277 #4 Posted April 4, 2020 Limington Maine was $1.74 earlier today
rjg854 11,350 #5 Posted April 4, 2020 Nice to see NY remains the king on gasoline prices, I had to cough up $2.29 a gallon this morning. 1
Shynon 7,459 #6 Posted April 4, 2020 It's 1.59 here but if you get closer to Cheeseland it goes down to 1.36 just saying

PeacemakerJack 10,738 #9 Posted April 4, 2020 I’ll have to root around in the glove box of my GTO...I know that I have a couple of receipts in there showing the fuel prices around $1.35 per gallon (however—that was nearly 20 years ago). It is weird to see them this low...good for my pocketbook but not for our overall economy. Sure hope this craziness comes to some sort of an end soon...before this country is REALLY in a financial “hurt locker”...
SylvanLakeWH 25,492 #10 Posted April 4, 2020 (edited) It is amazing... However, while plummeting gas prices may make me feel “good” as I fill my tanks, it is not a good sign... 0.02... Edited April 4, 2020 by SylvanLakeWH
19richie66 17,500 #11 Posted April 4, 2020 $1.38 when I left Florida. Seen it from there to $1.78 on the way to NC. 2

Lucky for me the State was paying for it. I thought the station was gouging so I drove around town to check. Yup $2.49 everywhere if yo're using a card. It's $2.39 if by cash but then you have to stand in line 6 feet behind someone buying lottery tickets. TWICE!! 1
953 nut 55,082 #13 Posted April 4, 2020 $ 1.78 here too, if the Russians and Arabs get over their little spat it will go up a little even if no one is driving anywhere.
Pullstart 62,795 #14 Posted April 4, 2020 It’s hover around $1.70 here, but I’ve heard a few stations near the big city are in the low $1.50’s...
Ed Kennell 38,022 #15 Posted April 4, 2020 (edited) O.69 / gallon here in Pee Aaa today. That's $29.00 / barrel for the crude oil. Then we add the 18.4 cents Federal tax 58.7 cents Pee Aaa tax 58.5 cents to refine and distribute So, we pay $2.12 / gallon at the pump. Edited April 4, 2020 by Ed Kennell corected crude price

ClassicTractorProfessor 5,314 #20 Posted April 4, 2020 I normally never even look at the gas prices, I buy ALL my fuel from one station, as I know it is good quality 100% gas. It has been $2.59 for as long as I can remember, couple days ago I went to fill up the pickup, figured here goes another $70-$75. Was talking to a friend who was getting gas at the next pump over when I heard the nozzle click off, as I was hanging it up I noticed my total was only $37. That's when I looked at the sign and noticed it had dropped to $1.59. Made me nervous at first as I thought maybe this station was selling that ethanol crap as well, but the guy in the store guaranteed me it was the same gas they always get. For a couple days it was actually .20 cheaper than the ethanol blend at the grocery store, then they got another truckload in and its now $1.39 for ethanol and $1.59 for the good stuff. I'm 29 now and been driving since I was 15, and I don't remember EVER paying under $2.00 for true gasoline. As much as I like filling my Chevy up for under $40, and filled Krystal's F150 up for less than $15 this afternoon, I would much rather pay $3.00 a gallon and see everyone here working again. $20 a barrel oil scares me much much more than the virus going around. A HUGE percentage of our local economy here in NW Oklahoma depends on the oil/gas industry, we are already starting to feel the trickle down effect at the shop.

steelman 251 #22 Posted April 5, 2020 That's a heck of a discount there! We are at 1.69 in NW Ohio and 1.51 in Indiana. I have heard 1.19 in So. Michigan about 15 miles away.
