Mickwhitt 4,592 #2 Posted April 1, 2020 Neat trick. I saw the same thing done at a kids science show when I was a nipper. Blew my mind that they were bending light. Then you learn it's the water that's bending, the light is still going in straight lines inside the liquid. Mick
The Tuul Crib 7,336 #3 Posted April 1, 2020 That's really cool! Bending light and even cooler the bucket is still red. What causes this?

Apparently this will not work with distilled water, its something about nano particles in the impure water. Years and I mean years ago i had taken a pair of five gallon plastic pails, cut the bottoms out, replacing it with glass so my two kids could see submerged golf balls, making it easier to scoop then from the bottom. By the time my eldest was 12 years old the rules on the course had changed, they were no longer permitted to salvage. So after being denied access to the course we used the pails on weekend prospecting trips. Edited April 2, 2020 by bcgold
