Ed Kennell 38,022 #1 Posted March 29, 2020 We got nearly 2" of rain here in the past two days and it's still raining. Of course we are all looking for excises to get outside, so I told Mrs. K I was putting on my rain gear and going to roll the lawn. She said, don't you have a cab on one of your tractors. Yep, there sits the poor 520H that hasn't had any work for several years. BTW, I took the blower off two years ago and it did not trigger any blizzards. Just the opposite, I had to hurry and plow the couple small snows before they melted. So , I got two hours of seat time rolling the lawn with the snow machine. It worked great...plenty of traction and grunt, and I was warm and dry. 3 8

Oh man, I can't get anything by you Don. I didn't think that chainless tire would show in the pic. I made that single chain out of a pair of walk behind blower chains that I picked up at the auction for a buck. Now I need to wait for a bargain on another pair. This may take awhile due to the Pa lock down. Check in next fall....I may have both fronts chained up.
c-series don 8,663 #5 Posted March 29, 2020 I have two pairs of tire chain pliers here Ed if you want to borrow one! I bet most people wouldn’t even know what they are. As a matter of fact the last pair I bought from an antique store and the person working there (wasn’t the owner of the store) didn’t know what they were!!! 2

Actually this area is pretty rich with tire chains and chain equipment. McKay Chain and American Chain and Cable produced chain for many years in York, Pa. Maybe this should be in the whatizit thread. Edited March 30, 2020 by Ed Kennell 2

c-series don 8,663 #13 Posted March 30, 2020 That’s actually why I have them. I used to need them when I plowed snow for my local township. I ran trucks with 10.00/20s Funny thing was that the town guys were too lazy to chain up,then get stuck. I or my guys could go almost anywhere with chains and the proper amount of weight and not get stuck! Side note: common sense, skill and experience also goes a long way!!! 5
