Brought the Lawn ranger home today!

Well, I went and got it today. Original tires all around, and good straight metal.

The engine is a H-60 75117F. No idea if that's even close. It runs, so I'm happy so far! :D

All it's missing is the lift arm. Anybody got one?

Now I have to unload it and clean her up!

That's in pretty good shape. Is the seat original too?

Not sure about the seat yet Karl. This is a new machine to me. There are so many things about this machine that I'm not used to- hood dosen't tilt up, seat pan is fixed, teeny tiny wheels and tires, TECHUMSEH engine. This is something I've never messed with at all.

I wrote in a previous post that the engine was silver. It was kinda late last night when I first saw it, so seeing a blue engine today made me wonder what the heck it came off of. The numbers are correct for the engine (or at least the shroud), so I'm gonna have to track a few of Bill's suggestions to ID it. Can't imagine why anyone would paint the correct engine this color, ya know?

I sure like it though. It's so little I almost tripped over it in the barn. Cute little rascal! :D

Kevin, and Karl unless I'm mistaken (doesn't happen much but does happen :D ) It should have one of the white and black seats on it. Like on my REO. Alot prettier though.

Thanks Stephen!

Kinda hoping my kids will take a liking to this one as well. Not to mention it came with a great mowing deck as well... :D

Joel, I'm actually hoping it's supposed to have one of those. That makes for a very pretty tractor with that seat. I think Ben has one of those on his Ranger as well.

Now I just gotta find one!

Well, If I can find the pan, I can have the cover made. There's an old man down the road who does upholstery work. Surely he can come up with something.

That's also why I Keep old seats even when they're torn. If I can salvage the logo on the seat, he can make the rest around it!

I have a 1968 Lawn Ranger that I bought in 1972 and it has a solid black seat :D All the rest I've seen were black and white. I put two pictures of it in the photo section. To the moderators: no matter how I tried, I couldn't get the one picture to shrink. If it's too big, please delete it.........

if and when you restore it... you can get decal sets for the 68 Ranger at either VinylGuy's website, or order them from Norm's Toys. Ed Mayhew doesn't have the 68 Ranger hood decal for some reason.

I have a 69 Lawn ranger and I think it has the orig. seat and it's all black,

Looks like you picked up a nice little tractor to add to your collection :P , Running to boot, most of my tec. powered tractors have carb. problems :D .

Your seat looks like the mid 70's and later style seats. just my two cents worth. Kelly in MI.

The seats come with black and white or all black :D:(

The hood comes off by removing the pin in the sterring wheel and two bolts on the side and one in the front at the front axle.

Its suppose to have a 6 hp teck engine

the decals the long ones with lawn ranger were put on the 1968 models only along with the three spoke sterring wheel thats the only difference from the 1965-1967

there a nice tractor and will do most any thing you ask of them the only att, made for them were snow blade, snow blower, and a lawn sweeper with bag.

and the snow blade made for them didnt fit any thing else it didnt use the axle hitch as did the biger tractors.

It did use the same three speed as the other tractors.

with 1" axles

but there one i know of with a six speed in it and one with a 4 hp diesel engine and they didnt come from the factory this these mods,

Any set of Red or White Grease Caps work on the LAWN RANGER from a "C" Series tractor . Ben
